Israel made one aerial strike on Syria, and it doesn't border Iran. Our forces are on two borders of Iran, i.e. Afghanistan and Iraq, three if you want to count Turkey. We wanted physical possession of recovered WMD. That meant invading Syria on the ground. Israel just wanted to destroy a suspected reactor.
