John McCain for President in 2012? He Says No [don't you dare run again, you scumbag RINO]

No often means yes in Washington, but we hear from Sen. John McCain's posse that he is not considering a 2012 rerun of his failed 2008 presidential campaign. (W beat him in the 2000 primary, remember.) Word came this week that he is mulling over another try, but a key insider says, "Ridiculous."

I remember last year on FR when the Juan McLame supporters couldn’t relize that the “jig was up”, “game over” or “game-set-match” until the very end (election night). Then came the sniping on Palin, deniles and finger pointing.

And what did McLame do afterwards? Well, suck up to the winner and the Demmies.

John, to put it bluntly, you can go suck an egg. You were Bob Dole redux (aka: It’s my turn, I earned it) and stabbed your VP pick in the back via proxies.

Go home old man.

Not at all first.

Quite frankly, the pain the country is in is worth it if it yanks the people back to the right and educates the youth.

I and many others will work to oppose any and all social liberals. Even if it means more of what we have had for the last half of a year.

You want to try in 2012 without a unified conservative movement again, go ahead and get a dishwater conservative who is only conservative fiscally. But it won’t work a bit better than 2008.

Time for Juan McLame and his larda$$ daughter to retire to that lettuce farm he’s always dreamed of! He’ll never pay $50 per hour like he claimed but he will give the illegals a sanctuary to gather.

McCain v Obama in 2012 would be the ultimate national IQ test.

He shouldn’t be running NEXT year for the Senate, either.

“Well you can rest assured we’ll have to see the Huckster again. Just looking at that guy makes me want to vomit.”

Ditto. Every one of those losers from the last election should have the common courtesy to go away and stay away. Our party was horribly split last time because we had no truly acceptable choice that could please the majority of us. The worst of ALL of them was John McCain, a candidate who was not only not elected, but probably unelectable. With Sarah Palin in the game now, I think we have an option that can unite most of our party – if we don’t allow the RATS and media to destroy her before that time comes.

no. he pretty much just looks at the GDP growth rate for the year of the election, the rate of inflation, and the number of qtrs in the preceeding term that were greater than 3% or so. I think market performance and unemployment may also be factored in.

You plug in those figures and it pretty much tells you who’s going to win. Defnitely who wins period and within 1-2 pts of the actual total. His final total was for data through Sept 30 and he had the GOP getting about 48%. Once you factor in that thet 3rd qtr started in Oct and was the worst qtr of growth in 25 years and factor that in, the 46% it ended up with is about right.

My point wasn’t to pump McCain, just to point out that given the date, he did about as wlel as could be expected or hoped for. If the economy was the same as it was in 2004, he would have won, arguably with a greater % than Bush did. The economy was much, much worse in 2008 so he lost. Not his fault really, but it happens.

McCain was not a good candidate, and was not the best candidate.

However, NO Republican was going to win after the Financial collapse. The day Bush trotted out there and begged for a bailout, Obama won. And not only did he win, he has a year or two of cover to blame Bush for the bailouts even Obama is doing.

The Republicans paid for years of being off the reservation...no candidate could overcome it. Heck, I’m not even sure any of the serious Pres. candidates were/are serious about changing it.

The voters in the middle vote on mood and momentum, not rational facts.

I think 2010/2012 and winning the House is just as, if not more, important.

“The day Bush trotted out there and begged for a bailout, Obama won.”

With all possible respect, that is ridiculous.

McLame lost because first, four years prior, he was threatening to jump sides to Democrat. Second, despite his platitudes on Pro-life, he was a flip-flopper on embryonic stem cell research. Third, he was for open borders. Fourth, he refused to be aggressive against Obama. Fifth, he said he was willing to raise taxes. Sixth, he was tied, even loosely to Keating. Seventh, he displayed hints of dementia. Eighth, more than once, he told conservatives to go screw themselves. Ninth, he was a major obstructor of the conservative actions Bush wanted to take when Bush first got into office because he wanted some of the glory and got upset when he was left out...and also he was sore that he got his head handed to him in the 2000 primaries.

Tenth,
