Two radical Muslims identified on crashed Air France flight

DEBKAfile Special Repor

June 10, 2009, 9:40 PM (GMT+02:00)

The day after DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources' revelation of Tuesday, June 9, that French security was going through the doomed Air France flight's passenger list for suspected terror links, the Paris weekly L'Express reported a link had been found.

French security DGSE (Direction Générale de la Sécurité Extérieure) agents dispatched to Brazil identified two names on the passenger list which also appear also on highly-classified documents listing radical Muslims considered a threat to France. This link to the air tragedy was described as "highly significant."

The French agents also examined the security measures employed at Rio de Janeiro international port from which Air France A300 took off May 31 with 228 passengers and crew, never to arrive at its destination at Charles de Gaulle, Paris.

DEBKAfile's counter-terror sources report that in the last few months Paris has received several threats of an impending al Qaeda mega-attack against a French city on the lines of the hijacked airliners which struck New York and Washington on September 11, 2001. The jihadis were bent on punishing president Nicolas Sarkozy for posting fresh French troops to Afghanistan.

Should further investigations connect the two Muslim passengers to this conspiracy, it would go far to indicate that the Air France flight was destined to crash over Paris - except that the plan misfired and the plane came down sooner than planned over the Atlantic.

According to our sources, the French flight crews warned of the plot might have succeeded into pre-empting it by an extraordinary act of bravery to crash the plane in the ocean before it reached France.

Alternatively, the two purported terrorists may have been on a suicide operation like the Egyptian Airline pilot who brought his Boeing 767 into the Atlantic off the US coast on March 31, 1999.

Hmmmm....no. Can’t be.

Terrorism was ruled out very early on in the investigation.

In a week they’ll discover that the two “radical Muslims” were in fact not “radical” and just happened to have the same names.

Yeah. But they got tired, so they blew the plane up before they got a third of the way there.

Terror pilots not experienced enough to deal with the severe weather or complex aircraft systems?

i´m sorry to break it but only because they have been muslim does not nesessary mean that they have been terorrist. there are muslims out there (most of them) who oppose terrorism, many don´t want terrorism but they don´t tell this “strong” enough and that´s why the western world is aginst muslims in generall. but only because 2 muslims have been on this flight doesn´t make them terrorist.

Maybe a military intervention?

As outlandish as it may seem, this was raised as a serious possibility in the TWA Flight 800 crash back in 1996 -- when eyewitnesses reported seeing something like a surface-to-air missile strike the aircraft, the U.S. military later acknowledged that it had ships in the area conducting exercises, and the FBI and NTSB created a silly animated video of the crash that every pilot recognized as complete B.S.

The initial reaction to the surface-to-air missile scenario involved questions about possible terrorism. Then a plausible scenario involving an accidental shoot-down by the U.S. Navy was considered.

On the evening of 9/11 I wondered if Flight 800 hadn't been shot down deliberately to head off an imminent 9/11-style attack.

Sad Dam HUSSEIN OBOZO says Muzzies are Peaceful and NEVER participate in TERRORIST ACTIONS! How can anyone believe that two MUSLIM PILGRIMS may have been dreaming of entering their Heaven with 72 Virgin Helen Thomas’s each by attacking a French City? This sounds too Bizarre! Nipalitano tells Us there is No Terrorists on the face of the Earth:-) just man-made Disaster Specialists!!

Seems unlikely. If you recall, on 9/11, the terrorists purposefully used cross-country flights to attack targets relatively close to the airports where the flights took off. This was so that the planes would be full of fuel and thus more destructive upon impact. On the other hand, in this case, by the time the plane got to Europe, it would have been relatively low on fuel.

It just doesn’t make sense that terrorists would take over a transatlantic flight so early into the flight. A bomb is certainly a possibility, but hijacking seems unlikely.

Facts are facts. Not all Muslims are terrorists, but almost all terrorists are Muslims.

I don’t know squat about planes, but my guess would be a bomb or a structural issue, it is airbus after all.

“identified two names on the passenger list which also appear also on highly-classified documents listing radical Muslims considered a threat to France.”

If you read the above you will see they have not just pulled out two random Muslim passengers’ names, but known radical Muslims considered a threat to France.

Read the article. It wasn't just because they are muslims.

So Drmeday people will recognize that Dr. Cashill, James Sanders, Ray Lahr among many others proved that TWA 800 was a Terrorist Attack as Saddam Hussein and Ramsey Yousef promised that day and the day before and that your explanation of the culmination is well within reason. Missiles were fired that night, there is no question of that! Agaain the website www.TWA800.com has reams of evidence that one can read and study at one’s own pace.
Dr Cashill points out in his very latest article why reopening the Case is so critical!
