CIA Director Leon Panetta says former Vice President Dick Cheney's criticism of the Obama administration's approach to terrorism almost suggests "he's wishing that this country would be attacked again, in order to make his point."

Panetta told The New Yorker for an article in its June 22 issue that Cheney "smells some blood in the water" on the issue of national security.

Cheney isn’t wishing for another attack. Cheney knows there will be another attack. Mr. CIA is playing politics with our safety.

Imagine the howls of indignation if the head of the CIA under George W had said this about any Doomacrat ... the sound of kvetching would have been deafening ...

Besides Leon Panchetta is a ham .. and not worthy of shining Dick Cheney's shoes.

childish remark by Panetta. It shows he is not taking his job very seriously and just playing politics like the hack he is.

What are Leon Panetta’s qualifications to be head of the CIA? Less than zero.

What are any of his staff's qualifications? It seems cronyism and incompetence are his guide.

This is an astonishgly inappropriate thing to say about a man that has dedicated much of his life, including a vary admirable term as Secretary of Defense, to defending his country. First the Dems tried to suggest that Limbaugh wanted Obama to fail, and now the CIA chief is accusing the former vice president of wanting his country to be attacked. This is shameful.

Dick Cheney speaks the truth, Panetta can’t handle it and makes a stupid remark. Go ahead, Leon...see if you can “scare” us some more.

It’s time to let go of the blame the last Administration mentality.

Enough.

Panetta does the US a grave disservice by implying anything of this nature of an American VP or President.

Hideous, nasty garbage to promote politics is vile and ugly.

Cheney may be a hateful figure to the left, but he certainly doesn’t desire the deaths of Americans.

For shame, Leon Panetta, that is if you have any sense of shame left which I doubt.

Panetta’s statement shows that is ignorance is infinite. I’d feel a lot better if we had a competent CIA, and a competent head of the CIA, but instead we have a dysfunctional, politicized cesspool. They are not professionals.

Cheney knows more about national security than Obama and his entire administration. Dick Cheney is a national treasure, and if he’s worried, we should all be worried.

Panetta’s statement is so far out of bounds that the enemy must be happy he’s running the CIA.

Leon Panetta got his job because of what he knows about the death of Ron Brown, plain and simple.

The way our leadership has been behaving, it’s not a question if, but a question of when...it’s not wishful thinking, it’s pragmatic thinking. We’ve already been attacked by terrorists, although not on the same scale, since 0 has taken over. Pvt. Long’s family has had to deal with the loss of their son because of a Muslim terrorist and then the indignity of 0 to ignore that situation.
