Is It Obama's Economy Now?
Forbes ^ | 6/15/09

ecent polls show Americans aren't as optimistic about the administration's ability to lead economic recovery.

In a carefully choreographed Cabinet meeting last Monday, Vice President Joe Biden began by touting the administration's economic accomplishments. President Obama responded by reminding his audience that "we're still in the middle of a very deep recession that was years in the making." The president then described the next phases of stimulus spending, being careful to say he "wasn't satisfied" with progress thus far.

This is pretty familiar stuff. Politicians point with pride, as Biden did, and point fingers, as Obama did by reminding his audience of what his administration "inherited," a favorite locution used by the president and his aides.

But there are other reasons for the administration's stepped-up emphasis on the economy. For starters, Democrats in Congress are clearly nervous, and they want to be able to show progress on the president's expansive and expensive initiatives. The unemployment rate rose to 9.4% last month, and gas prices are rising again. Long-term interest rates are rising and could slow the economy.

Additionally, the focus on health care and the president's trip abroad has taken the spotlight off the economy, Americans' top concern. Each month, Gallup asks Americans about the most important problem facing the country today. People can give any answer they like. When they posed the question in May, 47% said the top problem was the economy. No other issue even came close.

But there's another reason for the White House's concern, and that is the tentative evidence from recent surveys that people believe Obama now "owns" the economy--making it difficult for him to continue to blame the Bush administration.

It's Obama's Revolution, and, as Bono once said, "F*CK THE REVOLUTION!"

It has been Hussein's recession from before the election.

His side was aggressively destroying consumer confidence starting early in 2008.

The SRM will make sure they remind the sheeple that it is GWB’s economy, unless or until things get better. All failures belong to GWB says the SRM. All successes are owned by Obama, just pay attention to any SRM outlet and that’s what you’ll hear.

The public schools and the SRM, they are killing us.

When people try to blame it all on Bush ask them if Obama said that his mega stimulus would save millions of jobs and keep unemployment below 8%.

All his big plan did was put us all in debt for generations to come for nothing other than hyper inflation.

When the State Media runs a positive story about any sector in the economy, it is because of the great 0. When the news is bad, it is because of W, GHW, Reagan.

He owned it the day he pushed for the stimuli package to be passed without even reading it. It is yours now Bam.

He scared everyone to death with the talk of depression, more spending and higher taxes. People stopped spending, businesses hunkered down and here we are.

We were driving around Redmond, WA on Saturday, it is amazing how many office vacancies there are. Even my wife commented about it.

Obama could care less about the economy.

He and his fellow comrades are out to destroy the so-called unfair and exploitative system of capitalism.

He knows damn well what he is doing.

See Cloward-Piven Strategy.

The absolutely, historically massive spending and borrowing and takeover of industries/institutions since January makes it Obama’s economy.

He has gambled on lot’s of government cash/ownership being the solution, so that gamble has changed the entire scenario of recovery from a simple recession.

President Obama responded by reminding his audience that "we're still in the middle of a very deep recession that was years in the making."

And he's busy wrecking a nation that was over 200 years in the making."

The more the enemedia ties themselves to Obummer, the less the credibility they will have. It is my fervent hope that the worst of the lot suffers the same fate as Julius Streicher, who was so instrumental in Hitler's rise to power and the implementation of Hitler's polices. However, Streicher grew too extreme for even Hitler and was fired.
