US President Barack Obama said he was concerned by Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khameneis speech Friday that called for an end to protests over Irans disputed election and suggested a government crackdown could be coming.
Im very concerned based on some of the tenor and tone of the statements that have been made, Obama said in an interview with CBS News. Iran should recognise that the world is watching.
How they approach and deal with people who are, through peaceful means, trying to be heard will, I think, send a pretty clear signal to the international community about what Iran is and is not, Obama said.
Khamenei threw his weight behind re-elected President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, insisting no fraud had taken place in the June 12 election.
He also issued a stern warning that illegal demonstrations were not acceptable, and that the opposition would be held responsible for any outbreaks of violence.
of thousands of people have been protesting in support of opposition candidate Mir-Hossein Moussavi.

No you AREN’T, Bambi, you lying sack of puke. You are FOR Nutjob. This is nothing but political theatre, Vermin Boy.
Oh, so now he’s concerned, already. Oy, what a putz. He’s giving me schpilkis.
How nice of C-BS to edit out all the ums, uhs, ahs, ems, for him.
How benevolent of 0 to upgrade his status from concerned to “very” concerned. What’s next? Really super duper concerned?
He Voted Present?
Concerned’ my ass. This illegal alien from kenya makes Jimmy Carter look like a Republican.
Was he eating a large tomato from Michelle’s Magic Organic Garden as he spoke?
“the international community”
A-jad was greeted by Russia immediately.
“tenor and tone”
Somebody please tell Zero it is not a freakin’ Three Tenors’ concert.
He is too Dammed Stupid to be concerned about anything.
“How benevolent of 0 to upgrade his status from concerned to very concerned. Whats next?”
Code Mellow Yellow I think.
I vote for "snit." But watch out for "tizzy."
tenor and tone
Maybe he is imagining this within his “conversation with the Muslim World” gimmick pronounced at his Cairo speech.
It’s hilarious that the Iranians say that all this is an Obama plot. Hard to believe that the Iranians are even more clueless than the Democrats, but it seems true.
I think The Obamamoron is waiting to see how it plays out so he can use the same tactics on us here in the states.. When we start protesting, our tea parties.. He is just testing the waters for what he has in store for us.
I AM SO SICK OF THESE GIRLS WITH THEIR SUBMISSIVE VOCABULARY ( oh gag me ):
What a GREAT BIG BUNCH OF MEALY MOUTHED GIRLISH COWARDS WHO ARE NOT UP TO THE TASK OF DEFENDING DEMOCRACY TO THE WORLD.
They are a bunch of kids who need a BIG SPANKING and a years worth of solid history teaching from a non-liberal.
Shame on um.
We tell you...and in a peaceful way....to stop killing babies....and you just ignore us.
It’s the Liberal way... all about feelings.
Symbolism over substance.
No, what's next is Double Secret Probation!! He'll also put Neidermayer on it, he's a sneaky s**t just like . . .
Thanks for the much needed laugh. Who knew how right Hillary was during the campaign when she criticized his flowery speeches.
We mustn't forget that one of the Left's primary objectives is perfect harmony when singing "Kumbaya".
Obviously, Obama is in tune with this priority...
You get the impressions, Shermy, that this situation caught the Obamawallahs slightly(!) off balance.
It seemed they were getting ready to deal with any winner of this election, I’m sure discreet contacts by third parties and even at diplo gatherings, like with the former administration had occurred.
Then the people of Iran and what seems to be a substantial portion of the political elite seem to have had a minor disagreement with the authorities...lol!
As the former British PM remarked what he feared most, his reply, Events, my dear boy, events!
