Dutch twin brothers who mugged a teenager in the northern town of Groningen were arrested after being caught on camera by a car gathering images for Google's online photo map service, police said.

The pair stole the 14-year-old boy's mobile phone and 165 euros ($230) in cash last September.

"The picture was taken just a moment before the crime," a police spokesman said.

In March, the victim recognised himself and the two robbers while surfing Google Maps, which has a "Street View" feature allowing users to see images of buildings. The images are usually taken by a camera mounted on a car.

After an investigation by the police, one of the 24-year-old twins confessed to robbing the boy. ($1=.7183 Euro)

“... 165 euros ($230) in cash ...”

Good ol’ reliable Reuters reporters. Can’t they get anything right?

I figure that $230 = 165 Euros, within a few pennies.

Something about the way this is written...why is it necessary to mention that they're Dutch?

Maybe SWARTHY Dutch twin brothers?

Yoots. Twin yoots. 24 year old twin yoots who figured they could get away with robbing a lone 14 year old who had more stuff than they did.

Obviously the Google one didn’t, but that’s okay, Google’s owners and staff are all 100 per cent in favor of redistribution.

What was a 14 y.o. doing riding around with $230 cash?

My kids carried cash because I wouldn't let them have one of my credit cards. Having $200 cash would have been unusual, but I expect it would be within the normal range.

Have you been to a mall recently. Jeans and a top for a teen can easily hit $100. Throw in a pair of sneakers and you can be pushing $200 in a heartbeat. I don't see that as a lot to carry.

The Daily Mail website has the photo. The faces are blurred so it is hard to tell but the perps could very well be yoots. The lack of detail in the article leads me to believe they are. Surprisingly the victim is not a yoot. He is a typical blonde Dutch boy.
