Thanks for the pings. I’m watching the coverage on CNN and it’s beyond words. They keep playing a call from an eye-witness. The terror in her voice is gut wrenching.

Every time she says, “You need to stop this! You need to help us!” I can’t help but tear up.

Not sure, I hadn’t been able to follow as closely today. I think they are wisely awaiting better circumstances, seems the foreign fighters are similar to what Saddam Fedayeen was, a way to keep the locals at constant threat.

How about today’s events where in one case the Bassiji thugs grabbed three people in the street and bashed their heads on the curb again and again till they smashed the heads to pieces and thus savagely killed them! Just for being in the streets. NOt even necessarily involved with the demonstrators.

Who held a peaceful demonstration outside the islamic Majliss (parliament)in Baharestan Square until the Bassiji were set savagely loose on them under direct orders to mercilessly and vividly kill and maim from Khamenei’s son Mojtaba.

I was a'ruminatin' about how much I'd like to ship a few of my old Mausers to help the kids over there. A shame they have to face AK's with rocks.

This whole thing is sick and beyond my comprehension. How can people have such little regard for their fellow man?? It's making me think of the Rwandan genocide.

Jeff, I had a salesman to my door today. Nice looking young man. I noticed his name and asked where he was from. He said "Tennessee", but he knew I wanted to know "originally", so he added, "Iran". I started to ask him how it's going over there. He didn't want to talk about it, but he did tell me he went a couple days not hearing from his dad, and when he got ahold of him, he said he couldn't get calls out, but that he (this young man) could call in much easier. He was very upset over the situation and didn't want to talk about it. He did say they can't stand Khomeni (sp?) over there. AND he was surprised and genuinely grateful when I told him what everyone was doing on twitter and stuff--changing time zones to Tehran to make it harder for them to catch Iranian's posting on the net.

Most of the folks I have been talking to over there have gone quiet in the last couple of days. Here are a couple of their last "tweets" to me:

"we must go - dont know when we can get internet - they take 1 of us, they will torture and get names - now we must move fast"

"they pull away the dead into trucks - like factory - no human can do this - we beg Allah for save us"

"thank you ppls 4 supporting Sea of Green - pls remember always our martyrs"

My prayers are for them, and for the people who support them:

God in Heaven, please hear our prayer. Please do not forsake the brave Iranian people fighting for their liberty. We beseech Thee, dear Father, raise up friends to fight for and with them, astonish and bring down their oppressore, turn many, we pray, if not all of their regular mllitary to their side. Strengthen these, Thy children in their hour of need, succor them...and bless us, dear Father, with the strength, fortitude, faith, and courage to support them and to move our own representatives at all levels of government to be counted among their friends, allies, supporters, and defenders.
