Protesters in Iran are hailing 26-year-old Neda Soltan as a martyr after graphic videos of her apparent murder at a protest in Tehran hit the Internet. Iran experts say images of her bloody death have galvanized the country and that mourning for her which has been banned by authorities will bring deeper unrest.
"Neda," whose identity could not be verified by FOXNews.com, was reportedly gunned down by paramilitary police Saturday during protests in the capital city. Videos posted on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter show her bleeding from the nose and mouth as a crowd tries unsuccessfully to stanch the flow and save her life.
The video also shows a moving clip of a man identified as her professor cradling her head and yelling out, "Neda, don't be afraid. Neda, stay with me. Neda stay with me!

Wow, she was beautiful.
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion.
The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is
wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts
they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions,
it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. ...
And what country can preserve its liberties, if it's rulers are not
warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of
resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as
to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost
in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from
time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
The millions of Iran need to go hunting the thousands who are oppressing them.
Condolences to the family and friends of Neda Agha-Soltan. RIP dear lady.
“There is nothing wrong with wearing a headscarf if it’s the woman’s choice for modesty. Indeed, many headscarves are decorative and the Iranian women are pretty. It’s these mad mullahs and hillbilly imans who use the appearance of female flesh to justify their own lusts. Free Islam from its clergy!”
I agree. Even here in the states women were still wearing hats and scarves over their heads (think Grace Kelly in “To Catch a Thief”) just 40 years ago. I agree that its okay as long as it’s their choice and they aren’t being forced to be covered from head to toe. I do agree with the French that they shouldn’t cover their faces, though, just for security reasons.
I was recently reading a book written by an Iranian woman who was an English professor in Tehran, as the country went from being a fairly westernized country and descended into the opressive Muslim society that it is now, and she was forced to give up her regular teaching post (where she taught English literature). For a while was secretely teaching her students in her own home. She eventually had to flee the country with her husband. I believe they live in the DC area. I have not finished the book, but it was fascinating and so sad, because they really were very civilized and had a pretty open society before the Mullahs took over. You can see on the face of this young woman, she looks like a beautiful, well educated college student that you could meet in any college town around the world. It is definitely the same women in both photos.
That’s right, LW. The hunted need to reverse their mindset and become the hunters. But as it now stands, things are looking bleak.
This is a moment of relative BRILLIANCE from O'Reilly.
Neda died. Obama went for burgers.
Have an idea for a protest sign, to be worked out.
Yes. The lips especially, but the eyebrows and eyes look the same as well.
I have to agree. I've talked to Iranians who left when the Shah was disposed and they hate islam. They don't consider themselves muslim. Their culture and religion is Zoroastrian.
I hope the Iran people can pull through this. The culture and history is amazing. They’ve been in my prayers since this started, I would love to see them claim their God-given freedom.
Rest in His arms, little one. I dedicate two songs to you:

Thanks!!! I wanted to post this quote so I could find it again!!!
The people of Iran watch 5 free and fair elections in Iraq. They see freedom next door, they want it too.
Bush was right
Bringing democracy to Iraq was the right thing to do, If the Mullahs fall we will see a whole new world, militant Islam will wither and die, Israel will see peace, No. Korea and Hugo Chavez would be alone and isolated and our troops would come home with a clear picture of what they achieved.
Ladies and Gentlemen, The Bush Doctrine
Let Freedom Ring!
“...Im sorry but I see no evidence of vote rigging what so ever...”
Hey Nubie...maybe you don’t see it but even Iranian leaders admit it (but say it was not enough to change the outcome). Let’s face it...Mohammedanism (the true name for the religion of the false prophet) has screwed up Persians just as much as it has screwed up Arabs.
444Flyer: That is a very nice piece there.
I still believe the desire for freedom is universal, even if people have been subjugated for many generations.
