WASHINGTON — A Duke University official has been arrested and charged with offering his adopted five-year-old son for sex.

Frank Lombard, the school's associate director of the Center for Health Policy, was arrested after an Internet sting, according to the FBI's Washington field office and the city's police department.

According to an affidavit by DC Police Det. Timothy Palchak, an unnamed informant facing charges in his own child sex case led authorities to Lombard.

Authorities said that Lombard tried to persuade a person — whom he did not know was a police officer — to travel to North Carolina to have sex with Lombard's child.

certainly not advocating abortion but the idea that a child could be subjected to either of these..well,i can’t seperate them. knowing something is wrong, being hurt repeatedly,by someone you want to love and trust. living death.

More about Frank Lombard from 27 November, 2007:

Frank Lombard, associate director of the Health Inequalities Program at Duke’s Center for Health Policy, recently received funding for two research projects on services to patients with HIV/AIDS in this area: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is providing nearly $2.5 million to fund CADET (the Carolina Alcohol and Drug Abuse Expansion Team); and the Health Resources and Services Administration has provided more than $1.5 million to develop a Regional Health Information Consortium (RHIC) in partnership with Wake Forest University Health Sciences.

Remember, this fellow has only been accused, not convicted.

He’s Associate Director, Health Inequalities Program. Scheduled to teach a class in the Fall, “Intro to U.S. Health Care System.”

Claimed to drug this kid with Benadryl before abusing him.

Real healthy guy.

Is there a mom? I haven't read the article yet, but I willing to bet there is no mention of a mom. I bet there is another “dad” in the household, though.

If the charges are true, then there is not a single method of punishment which can be inflicted on this individual which I would consider “cruel and unusual”.

You're assuming that there is a mom. Since there's nothing in the story about a mom or any gleeful references to Republicans, we may be onto something in the suspicion that this is a gay adoption by a default Democrat. Most big-time universities are crawling with GBLTs and other haters of traditional values.

Yeah, I know that a lot of people won’t be advocating abortion, but when you think about it, if the kid is still alive, at least there’s a chance of something better. But, when you kill your kid, you’ve ended all the kid’s chances, permanently.

So, the way I think about it, if someone would think that this guy would deserve the death penalty, then that means there are a lot of parents around, right now, who deserve the death penalty about ten times worse than this guy does...
