Homosexuals stole the color purple and image of the rainbow to show their support for their agenda, why can’t conservatives come up with a standardized symbol/color to identify ourselves to each other like a red, white and blue symbol. Put in in your store window, on your businesses vehicles, advertisements, etc.

I would hate to hurt the business of a fellow patriot in attempting to starve the beast. Pay conservative owned businesses in cash or precious metals. It is up to them to choose whether or not to report this income to the IRS ; )

If the business supports the Democrats socialist agenda, starve that business which feeds the beast.

That’s a good idea. How about just the Dollar Sign - like Galt used?

I listened to a WSJ report today that said oil prices were going down due “consumer confidence” being low......???

Sounds like starving the beast is working to me .

People are not spending. I had to go get a new mouse for my computer and the store I went to was EMPTY compared to what it normally was. Bought the cheapest trackball they had and left after the clerk gave me a sales pitch on what was on sale 50% off etc etc.......the stores are hurting IMO.

Starve the Beast !

Took my Mom to the range last weekend and let her burn up a 100 rounds of .22 ammo in my S&W 317 .22 revolver and then made her shoot her SW 637 snub with some light reloads that are along the same lines of recoil etc as the Glaser blues I gave her for it as defense loads. She worked the HKS Speed loaders like a pro with 2 boxes of reloads and was happy as a little kid in a mud hole !

She has 2 of the 637’s, one in her bedroom the other in her living room and each has 3 spare speed-loaders filled w/ Glaser blues. We discuss her security. She was always of the opinion her simple screen door would stop a bad guy because they couldn’t get in without breaking the door.

When we bought her new pella storm doors I told the installer to wait while I showed my Mom how her old storm doors were protecting her. I jerked on the door after I had her lock it as she always did and it just came apart and I had her by the collar in mere instant.

She was enlightened to say the least and now when alone she keeps her little revolvers handy as in arms reach where ever she is setting. She liked my crimson trace grips I have on the little 317SW and now wants em for her snub guns.......money well spent IMO. Shopping this weekend for her.....:o)

Talking to a lady a couple of weeks ago and she was telling me how her and her daughter was harassed and intimidated on a city street near their home by 2 individuals. I suggested that she should look into getting a handgun for self defense. Just the mention of the word handgun threw her into a fit, backing up, hands out shaking her head no like I had just blasphemed the Word of God. Of course her drama display may have been meant to impress her zombie friends. She is instead going to get a can of mace and a whistle to carry in her purse. Won't do much good if she meets those 2 again and it escalates. It amazes me how many people are offended just my the mention of the word.

We need more people like your Mom who ain't afraid to protect themselves.

>>> Maybe small business owners could consider giving discounts to people who pay in gold or silver?

Cash works just as well for now. Did one of those just yesterday.
I would hold on to that gold until they destroy the dollar.
Won’t be long though at this rate... that’s the new form of savings for the smart ones.

I owned a store that employed 4 people for several years. If those mom and pop stores sell things i need i will buy them. if they sell useless crap, i won’t. if the owners of those stores also make a decision to “starve the beast” then they can probably afford to have their sales reduced somewhat by the rest of us that are in the “galt” mode.

That is why I hate the guard rail at the grand canyon concept.

Stupid people should be allowed to live only as long as they possess the common sense to do so.....

Here in Texas OC spray is referred to as spice. A friend of mine who teaches the CHL class demonstrates the fact that OC hurts an stings most yet will only deter 1 out of 5 attackers.

Handgun properly applied will deter 5 out of 5.

I have zero sympathy for those who prefer to be a victim. Sadly their decision puts their families at risk also IMO.

Stay Safe troop .....

Good on Mom! I've got a similar story. A couple of years ago, the "kids" were leaving the front door unlocked. It's a VERY stout storm door and a HUGE PITA to actually pull open if locked! But they were leaving it UNLOCKED and leaving the big door behind it open. Sometimes, unsavory characters travel our road on foot and we live close to the road. I started to feel like a nag and then one day SoapGirl (now 16) basically voiced her opinion that I was paranoid. She said we were armed to the teeth and that if somebody came in, they'd almost certainly be shot. "O.K.", I said. "I'm going to show you something." I told them all to simply sit in the living room and I went outside. Then I opened that door and came INSIDE and ran around the room quickly. I had "tagged" all three of them in well under 15 seconds. I acted as if I had a knife. Then I told them to imagine them all laying around the room bleeding to death! So not to be outdone, they retrieved their AR-15s and leaned them next to where they were sitting. I STILL managed to tag two of them! Now it was a CONTEST! They slung the rifles and were reasonably "ready" when I came through the door and I got "popped" within two steps of coming through the door. Of course the weapons were checked unloaded before we started. Then we did the same thing with handguns. The handguns were on the table in front of where they were sitting. The same thing happened. I "tagged" two of them.

This made a HUGE impression on them, and guess WHAT?!... they lock the front door now! If they notice that it's UNLOCKED, it BOTHERS them!... and they lock it!

This is a lot like the retrieval games that we play. Everybody thinks they can retrieve a weapon faster than they can...until they HAVE TO. :-)

Eye opener training is best for awareness. Even walking across a parking lot in condition red one can lose due a threat being allowed to close.

Tell Soap Girl I said she’s getting slow in her old age.......;o)

Thank you for your most excellent reply. It amounts to us being clever, obeying the law yet undermining this illegitimate government.

This is a good idea. Also, to include as we did at our small business, is to ask employees to willingly cut 2-3 hours a week out of the paycheck. The end result is not too drastic in the take home pay but in our effort the taxes for the month reduced about $1600.
The before mentioned both implemented might have a meaningful impact.
The problem is getting enough on board-organize and track- to make an impact.

My current major discretionary spending is books. Any other suggestions besides buying used, which I am already doing?

Use the public library. If your local library doesn't have the book, CD or DVD, see if it is a member of a Library System which allows you to borrow from another library in that system.

After seeing your kitchen table, I pity the fool who would come to your place to cause trouble.

We had some good practice last summer. We live in an area where we never get any foot traffic and vehicles stop and turn around when they hit my trespasser will be shot sign. My wife woke me up at 0200 and said someone just broke into the house. I grabbed my Glock and she grabbed her H&R .22. When I got to the living room I noticed the screen had been knocked in. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her dumb dog walking toward me from the kitchen. A storm was brewing out west and she decided to ride it out inside the house. The reason I didn't blast her is because when I walked into the living room I smelled her and thought maybe she was the one in the house. She's an outside dog and stinks like one of the stagnant ponds on the back side of my property.

It was good practice. My wife did good covering the hallways while I cleared the rooms.

Had a dog like that named Charlie .....least hit of lightning and Charlie was in freaked mode and we’d have to chase him to the next state he would be so scared of lightning and thunder..........

Neat story.......

I still clear rooms at oh dark thirty with inert frag grenade. Toss it in , spoon pops off and if I hear anything scrambling larger that a house fly I recon by fire with an EBR or 12 ga Shotgun.

She's got an entirely different opinion of close now! Close to her is "about" 75 feet. Inside of that is simply too close! :-)

I have to tell you... she was FUNNY when we bought her that AR-15. Prior to that, she had experience with the .45ACP and a .22 rifle that she owns (Ruger 10/22). We took the AR-15 up to our property and she learned pretty quick that it struck targets at 300 yards pretty much like the Ruger did at 50! She stood on top of the hill and looked around it and said, "Wow... so long as I have good cover, I could keep a LOT of people away from me up here!" :-)

About that kitchen table...

A couple of years ago, I was called for jury duty and I got a good and up-close look at six big guys who pulled a B&E on a house about 6 miles from where we live and did some terrible things to the unarmed occupants...a man and a woman. At that time, we had some hunting rifles and I had a Colt Series 80 .45ACP. But after that trial I vowed that any one of my clan would be able to hold off six big guys like those I saw. So I made sure every one of them had a good AR-15 and a bunch of spare mags....and enough ammo to not run out for a long, LONG time. We assigned AORs and everybody knows their area if something goes "bump" in the night...or daytime for that matter! It took several months to budget for the rifles, optics, lights, magazines, ammo, and radios. I was a radio operator (among other things) in my USAF days and I taught them "radio etiquette", and while we do have (standard) FRS/GMRS combo radios, we also invested in TriSquare FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) radios which are very difficult to snoop, or jam for "most" people.

We try to live by the "try to be safe" rule and we're happy when everybody ends up safe after a scare... bad guys included! One day, a carload of saggy-baggy-pants, backwards hat boys pulled into the driveway and banged on the front door. They parked in our driveway just off the road and put the hood up on the car. A couple of them started to go around the back of our house, but our Doberman on the back porch was NOT happy about it, so they went back around front. I got the call at work from my 16 yr old daughter. Her and my 14 yr old son were home. My wife and 19 yr old were out. I was 43 miles away. They were CONCERNED because these guys were out there milling around the car and now two of them were on the porch trying to see through the blinds and knocking on the door. I told them to cover both entrances and listen for breaking wood and glass, and if they felt that a "breach" was imminent, then fire on the person coming in. But otherwise do NOT fire! I figured the guys were either going to go away, or they were going to suffer greatly at the hands of two teenagers inside armed with ARs who are VERY proficient. I thought about calling the police, but decided not to. What was some guy with a Glock going to add to the equation? :-)

I stayed on the phone with my daughter because she was a bit panicked and the guys all went back to the car...put the hood down, got in and drove off! So much for needing assistance eh? Lucky for them, they didn't break glass. It stressed me out though. I left work early that day and went home and told them both that I was proud of them and that I loved them. :-) Everybody stayed SAFE....nobody got hurt!...including bad guys...and that's good!

I HATE clearing buildings! Through most of the 1990s I was on a site security team where I was stationed and we had to "clear" the little areas around the buildings and behind the blast walls. It was close and you could be on top of somebody almost before you realized it. It was nerve racking. :-)

I came waking out from behind one of those bomb walls one night and an exercise evaluator had JUST tossed an artillery simulator...unknown to me. I walked out of the gap just as he tossed it into the open concrete lot and it literally bounced off the back of my boot. I turned around to see what it was and I heard his boots scuffling because he was RUNNING away from it. He turned and yelled, "RUN", just about the time that I decided that was what I needed to do anyway! I managed almost TWO steps when the damned thing went *BANG*. It blew my helmet forward, and felt like somebody smacked me in the backside with a 2x6. Also, my back hurt afterwards for about a day. The docs told me that my kevlar probably saved my kidneys from some of the shock so no blood came out of me from ANYWHERE thankfully. Oh...it also rang the CRAP out of my ears.

After that...no matter WHAT... I always stop and listen before stepping into an open area. :-) ...and then I try to hurry if I can! :-)
