Sarah Palin’s speech proved she is the most ethical politician alive.

Oh, Quinn, do drop dead.

If she’d wanted to “set herself up” she would simply have announced that she wasn’t seeking another term.

She’s leaving because of treacherous, ugly folks like Quinn.

"a highly cynical move to set herself up for a presidental run for which she is manifestly unqualified"

I disagree with the premise. Not getting reelected is bad enough if a governor seeks high office. Not even finishing one term is suicide.

This her end with regard to the presidency.

(puts on flame proof suit)

Well that was certainly fast...

That's what I was thinking.

She’s not quitting because she’s running for president. She’s quitting because she’s quitting. They won.

Palin's Dereliction of Duty

That is the label that every single political opponent, Democrat or Republican, will hang on her.

you don’t just up and quit an important job, especially in the current situation.

One of the most important things she could have done for Alaska she recently did...the Exxon pipeline deal.

Now all that would be left is more and more spurious lawsuits which would bankrupt both her and Alaska.

She's done the right thing IMO...ESPECIALLY if she plans a run for higher office.

Quin is off his meds again - he is quite wacky and prone to knee-jerk reactions. There’s a reason why TAS website solicits people to subscribe every time you visit their site. The magazine has taken a beating. Quin is one reason why.

I hate the smell of Ross Perot in the morning! (he didn't stick it out either) ((except his Obama ears))

I don’t think a presidential run is on her mind right now.

I hope this doesn’t mean we’re stuck with Romney next time.

Only if you vote for him. Look at Romney, he did his full term, (since that's so important), and Mass is a liberal hell hole. Now, what's more important, finishing the full term or what you did to or for your state while you were in office ? Hmmmmmm ?

Except that she is quitting early a job for which she campaigned, won and accepted. That is not ethical, sorry.

Hey Hilyer, You say she’s not qualified. I suppose you think that jerk in there now is qualified?? You need to do a little homework.

She’s leaving because of treacherous, ugly folks like Quinn.

And does she expect them to magically disappear when she runs for President?

Except that she is quitting early a job for which she campaigned...

She didn't campaign for being bankrupted by frivolous lawsuits. The job description changed after she was hired.

Do any of these clowns realize that the political rule book is about to be torn up? Her supporters don’t care if she resigned, it’s just another talking point for the press. If she runs in 2012 she’ll get the nomination.

Exactly!

Sarah Palin is the ONLY VP nominee in history to bring in votes on a national level that the presidential nominee wasn't going to get (in the past there have been VP nominees who were on the ticket to secure their home state, but never on a national level).

In 1976 Reagan lost the GOP nomination to Ford, but a lot of people were still excited about Reagan and, after Carter nearly destroyed the country, Reagan won in a landslide in 1980. Things are setting up for Palin to do the exact same thing.
