In a telephone interview with Josh Meyer of the LA Times, an FBI spokesman in Alaska dismissed the leftist lies that an FBI investigation of Sarah Palin on public corruption charges was the reason she will resign:
"There is absolutely no truth to those rumors, that we're investigating her or getting ready to indict her," Special Agent Eric Gonzalez said in a phone interview Saturday. "It's just not true."The letter (full text here) from Gov. Palin's lawyer calls out the Palin-hating bloggers and major media outlets by name:Gonzalez added that there was "no wiggle room" in his comments that could exclude any kind of probe.
To the extent several websites, most notably liberal Alaska blogger Shannyn Moore, are now claiming as “fact” that Governor Palin resigned because she is “under federal investigation” for embezzlement or other criminal wrongdoing, we will be exploring legal options this week to address such defamation. This is to provide notice to Ms. Moore, and those who re-publish the defamation, such as Huffington Post, MSNBC, the New York Times and The Washington Post, that the Palins will not allow them to propagate defamatory material without answering to this in a court of law. The Alaska Constitution protects the right of free speech, while simultaneously holding those “responsible for the abuse of that right.” Alaska Constitution Art. These falsehoods abuse the right to free speech; continuing to publish these falsehoods of criminal activity is reckless, done without any regard for the truth, and is actionable.Although the letter is being mocked by hateful leftists such as the Kos Kidz as mere saber rattling, it serves a purpose. Sarah Plain is putting the nutroots and the liberal media on notice. Unlike former President George W. Bush, who suffered such attacks in silence and allowed the left to define him, she will stand up for herself and her family, and in so doing she is defining herself as a fighter who stands up for what matters to her.
This is one of the reasons Gov. Palin is resigning her state office. With the burden of office put in Sean Parnell's hands to carry out the Palin agenda in Alaska, she will soon have the time to devote to such a battle. And, with the income from her book deal and possible speaking fees she will be able to earn once free of the demands of the governor's office, she will be guaranteed to have the resources fighting such a battle requires. But above all, modern warfare demands that the warrior must be mobile. Unencumbered by local demand that Alaska's governor must be tethered to the state, Sarah Palin, as a former governor, will be free to maneuver.

Sarah Palin would do more for the nation, in my opinion – by taking over the RNC and kick Steele to the curb. She could get much more done for this nation as opposed to running for office - that could come later...
This would:
* Bring conservative principles back to the RNC (small government, get government out of our lives, lower taxes, 2nd amendment support, state's rights, small business support, lower taxes, strong defense, non-nonsense foreign policies). Conservatism works every time it is tried.
* She could be a credible spokesperson for energy, drilling, etc in light of sane environmental initiatives.
* She could, on a daily basis, take the wind out of Barry's sails on a host of his anti-American issues (bank take-overs, nationalization of large sectors of the economy, socialism, class warfare, generational theft, bigger government, job killing). Her media appeal would take away from the daily barrage of "new plans" put out ad nauseum by Barry, Rahm, Steffy, and 'Astro-Turf' Axelrod. She would be a countervailing force to the crap we get from the White Crib on a nearly hourly basis. If Republicans embraced the Twitter, Facebook, MySpace internet viral communications, it would be a direct hit against Barry's minions.
* She could - and this is the biggest reason she should take over the RNC - help with a 1994-esque take-over of both houses and start blocking the hopey-dopey-changey-strangey crap we have seen for the last 6 months.

Just peeked at Huff Post and there is an opinion piece stating that the Gov. is going after a private citizen, Moore. and they cant believe it! OMG. the hypocrisy is incredible and I cant believe it is in print! Can you say Joe the Plumber. Im not a reader of Huff post because I assumed it to be a liberal website. I guess I was right. Does anyone post on Huff here?

Be prepared for screams of “Censorship” and “Big Brother” after the first suit is filed.
I will welcome the sweet sound of crickets after the first suit is successful and she drives a stake in the heart of the more vicious leftie sites. I just hope it is in my lifetime.
I am watching the Sunday talking heads and except for Bill Kristol they all think that this was a huge mistake and that Sarah is finished as a candidate.
But they are making the mistake of applying their shop worn template as to how a politician must play the game to be successful.
With Sarah you must throw away the old paradigm. Sarah is not a politician. She's a force of nature and doesn't play by their rules nor does she need to.
Stock up on popcorn because this is going to be fun to watch.
