New York Congressman Blasts Jackson as 'Pervert, Low-Life' (Finally saying it like it is)
fox news ^ | 7/6/2009 | fox news

A New York congressman says Michael Jackson was a "pervert" and calls on society to stop "glorifying" the late entertainer in a YouTube video.

Rep. Peter King said Jackson -- whom he called a "low-life" -- is being glorified in the days after his death while society ignores the efforts, of teachers, police officers, firefighters and veterans. In the two-minute video, King claims the "day in and day out" coverage of Jackson's death is "too politically correct."

"Let's knock out the psychobabble," King said in the video taped outside an American Legion Hall on New York's Long Island. "He was a pervert, a child molester; he was a pedophile. And to be giving this much coverage to him, day in and day out, what does it say about us as a country? I just think we're too politically correct."

King, a Republican who is among the possible contenders for the seat held by Democratic Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, said Jackson "may have been a good singer" and "did some dancing," but blasted the singer as someone who could not be trusted around children.

In 2005, Jackson was acquitted of molesting a boy who spent time at his Neverland ranch and appeared with him in the 2003 British documentary, "Living With Michael Jackson." The entertainer had been accused of plying the boy with alcohol and groping him.

Michael Jackson played the Scarecrow in The Wiz in 1978. Now, 31 years later he will be burried without his brain. Coincidence? I don't think so.

Yes, OK, but even if he was legally exonerated, this media circus about his life is just a bit over the top. He was a good singer, an excellent dancer, and a very talented all-round musical entertainer. There’s nothing dishonorable with any of those things, but they don’t warrant all this adulation either. He was also a very troubled person cursed with a lousy childhood. He never completely came to terms with himself, or with life in general. He’s not what I would call a hero. Not like a major scientist or philosopher. Or the GI’s storming Halmand province, or the firefighters and medics who save lives on a daily basis. This culture has its priorities upside down.

Would you want your children to grow up like Michael Jackson?

Why on earth are you asking tobyhill this question?? He states in his headline that King was 'telling it like it is' by calling MJ a pervert.

"I guess you aren’t familiar with liable laws?"

Familiar enough to know they're correctly spelled "libel".

“Legally exonerated” is not accurate and is misleading when it comes to whether or not a person could be trusted around kids. He was found “not guilty” which is FAR DIFFERENT than innocent.

All I’m saying is the Congressman shouldn’t have put himself in a position of liability. Now the family will sue him. You never publically say things like that about someone unless it’s the actual truth. Regardless of what people think or believe, courts have said it isn’t fact.

Jackson - the KING OF TACKY - hasn't had a hit in decades A person can count his "great songs" using the fingers on one hand.

The MSM loves him because they see his creepy gay pedophilia as giving the finger to traditional Americans.

Trash.

Good for Mr King. This Hollywood hero worship is sick and sign of how our society has devolved.

If MJ is the ultimate “American” icon/hero than sadly I no longer consider myself American.

“even if he was legally exonerated”

I understand your frustration. Settling in civil suits is arguably an admission of guilt [but I’m no lawyer]. What might be irritating people is that there’s no dog in this hunt for a talk radio host who would rather criticize someone in power — the Zero. They don’t want to waste energy on a former musician who can’t touch any more little boys where he is now.

I wonder, how many lawsuits did MJ have to settle? He had to pay people off, but hey — he’s ‘exonerated’.

Hats off to Peter King - he's right on this - but it's the MSM that's glorifying him - and like all 24/7 type advertising - it's having an effect. Why is the MSM doing this for a man who hasn't had a hit in a decade or more?

The MSM is fawningly praising the gay pedophile Jackson as a way of giving the finger to traditional Americans. To exalt a child molester would be the equivalent of the right exalting a person who killed abortion doctors.

Agreed.

Actually, when MJ settled out of court with one of the kid’s parents he pretty much opened the door for any and all opinions and allegations.
