North Dakota’s only American Civil Liberties Union office in Fargo closed in February, a closure blamed generally on the poor national economy, but also to losses major contributors suffered in the Bernard Madoff scandal....
“The ACLU got hit pretty hard in this economic downturn as far as fewer donors,” Ring said. “There were a couple of really big donors that were really affected by the Madoff scandal.”

I was there when the profile movement forced the closure of the only abortion clinic in the state. So the legal enablers of the odious practice seems like they were long overdue for shutdown. Congratulations!

Hmmm. OK. So New Yorkers were funding the ACLU, and the ND office closes. That means it was ACLU’s decision to close ND, and not the ND chapter’s management themselves.
Glad you’re rid of them, however it happens. Now if only Madoff had been contributing billions to Planned Parenthood and ACORN.
