Palin Breaking Ground For Presidential Run
Moca Java ^ | July 10, 2009 | John Christy

So you’ve all seen and kept up with the latest happenings on Sarah, right? A lot of people in the media and the blogosphere declared her resignation “bizarre,” and a lot of others thought that, frankly, she was insane. Even many of Palin’s supporters were puzzled by this decision at first. Why would this woman, who was doing perfectly well building her resume and experience as governor of Alaska, abruptly resign?

It makes a lot more sense now. A few days ago, Palin scheduled a press conference, and none other than ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, Time, and countless other media outlets showed up. Today, an article came out in which Texas Governor Rick Perry declared that Palin would do campaigning for him, and following the declaration was a media frenzy. Palin’s people aren’t stupid; they know she’s a draw. They know that, at any time, at any place, and for any reason, Palin can kick up a storm in the media. It barely matters that Palin is the victim of all kinds of criticism and second guessing: by staying in the news media day and night, by plastering her beautiful face all over the news programs and papers, Palin will become a household name.

Look, Palin has already proved that she can draw the adoration and votes of most of middle America. She did well among men, and, with a little more familiarity, she’s sure to do well with women. It doesn’t matter what the pundits and the talking heads say; what matters is the final vote count in November, 2012. Palin is a draw; she knows this, her handlers know this, and Americans know this. Only the media doesn’t seem to know it, but even they are unknowingly boosting Palin’s appeal.

It’s been proven in the last election cycle that it’s dangerous to second-guess Palin. In 2008, it was McCain’s campaign staff, in a weak and pathetic thrust at ‘bi-partisanship,’ that held her back from saying what she really meant. All of the reports that came out stated that McCain’s people had all sorts of gag orders on Palin, and in addition were feeding her dozens of conflicting sets of talking points to give the media. Now that Palin has cut loose from Alaska, she has gained not only a national stage, but also the freedom and independence to convey her real personality to all of America for the next three years.

I think he's pretty much spot on. What do you think?

I said, as many others did, that she will end up campaigning and raising bux for the right kind of candidates.

Whether Perry is such a candidate is for debate - but she is indeed going to use her drawing power to help some.

yippeeeee

I like Sarah, hell even voted for her, but ‘most’ men, not all but most, are not going to vote for a woman President, or a woman Vice President.

Too many damn chauvinists in this country

My guess is that her resignation affects her career in the same way that Perot dropping out of the '92 race, and then re-entering it, affected his. Which is to say, badly. But it's certainly not an exact analogy. 2012 is a long way away.

And I'd like to be wrong, 'cause I'd vote for Sarah for the White House any day of the week.

I have to admit that is a very well reasoned analysis and I don’t think I see any holes in it. And, if true (ie, she really is planning this this way) it’s a brilliant gambit.

Hehehe...GO SARAH GO!

Sarah Palin initiated a brilliant flanking manuever against the left, the DNC, and the MSM (and throw the RINOs in there for good measure) that has them all in a frenzy wondering what her next move will be and how it will be perceived...and has them frothing at the mouth in their efforts to discredit her.

Sarah will now get her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process. Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that and make an awesome, stunning run for the Presidency in 2012.

I think more men would vote for Sarah then women. It’s women who are the most cynical, most of the vile comments made about Sarah come from women, not men. As far as Sarah running for President. I think she made it perfectly clear on the radio show tonight that she wants to advance the Conservative cause. I think that is what she will do first

She’ll have to make a choice to either remain with the OP and sacrifice her Conservative principles or advance the Conservative cause by leaving the OP.

Not sure. In time we're going to know if she wants to run, and if so, whether or not she will be too vulnerable to the liberal catcalls of "quitter".

I'd love to see her pull it off, just not sure how her resignation will play in the long run.

The key point is that Perot was leading both Clinton and Bush in the polls prior to dropping out. That changed after he dropped out and re-entered.

As I said, it's a highly imperfect analogy. But I fear that voters could be turned off by her voluntary failure to complete the term for which she was elected. Could make her look wishy washy and flighty, which is how Perot came off.

In the end it all comes down to the voting booth.

Most of the people I know, especially the elderly, registered Republicans men told me after they had voted that they did not vote McCain / Palin because of Palin. They were afraid JM would die in office and then we’d have a woman President.

When I reminded them that all of their ‘young’ life they were led by a woman (their Mother) I was told I was too young to understand, and hell I’m in my 40’s.

I think we’d have been alot better off.

I have to disagree with him on this, in that ? ... the media does know this, otherwise ? why would they attack her ? ... they know she's a threat to them big time ...

Her resignation will be forgotten by the ADD voting public well before 2012...

She needs to talk directly to the voters as often as possible and promote Conservatism and Conservative candidates.

By following this plan, by 2012 there may not even be a reason to have a primary or even an election. I exaggerate - but only a little.

Alan Keyes ran a joke of a campaign. What the heck was that reparations for black crap? I wouldn't have voted for him.
