'Politburo' controlling U.S. policy

Sources say White House cadre bypassing agencies, jeopardizing security

JERUSALEM – A small group of officials working mostly from the White House are tightly controlling U.S. foreign policy, bypassing other government agencies and making decisions without employing the expertise of those agencies, according to diplomatic sources speaking to WND.

The sources said some of the decisions may be jeopardizing U.S. security.

A senior Middle East diplomatic source said Secretary of State Hillary Clinton recently apologized to a Mideast leader, explaining to him U.S. policy regarding his country is being dictated by the White House and not her agency.

The diplomatic sources all confirmed Clinton has been largely cut out from the decision-making process, as have U.S. National Security Adviser James Jones and other top figures.

The diplomatic sources identified the White House group largely controlling foreign policy as consisting of President Obama; White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel; top Obama adviser David Axelrod; and National Security Council Director Denis McDonough. Also involved are Mark Lippert, chief-of-staff of the National Security Council; U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice and Jim Messina, White House liaiason to Congress.

The White House did not immediately respond to WND's request for comment.

A senior U.S. official referred to the group as a "politburo," using the term for the executive committee of communist political parties.

The source said the so-called politburo is making decisions that bypass other agencies.

Ah, Hillary works the back channels. Right now the only hope for America is Hillary’s ego.

I bet Hillary is feeling really good about her decision to quit the Senate now. [/sarc]

Obama is keeping her on a short leash and making sure everyone else knows it. I give her to the end of the year.

I don't like having to give credit to WND bit their description of the Obama admin as a politburo is actually spot on, as anyone who studies Soviet Admin Systems in the 60s and 70s would remember. The Politburo represented the CPSU not the govt. The Members of the Politburo may have worn two hats, one govt one party, as Andrei Gromyko did. But the decisions were made within the Politburo and disseminated from the Party Secretariat to the govt bureaucracy.

This is exactly how the Obama govt by Czar functions. Decisions are made by the area czar whose only interest is the well being of Obama, as the Politburo member's only interest was the CPSU. The White House czarist staffs disseminate these decisions to be implemented by the cabinet bureaucracies without question. My old Prof at Fordham Richard Mills, would easily recognize the soviet style to the haloed one's government.

That's a razor blade across Obama's calves.

Agreed. And like the good street agitator Obama is, he’s attempting to over-load the system and cause our entire economy to crash. The Left is leaving nothing to chance this time.

Obama has approximately three dozen unelected, unvetted, unaccountable personal Czars with staffs of unvetted, unaccountable political appointees bearing allegiance to no one but Obama himself, in place to bypass all constitutional limits on the power of the presidency.

He’s operating without congressional oversight, without the advice and consent of the senate and therefore without the consent of we the people. In short he is a dictator and he’s obviously assuming unconstitutional powers upon himself.

The only thing that can stop him at this point is impeachment. And if the complicit socialist congress abdicates their constitutional duty to rein in an errant power grabbing chief executive, then it will soon be time for we the people to rise up and exercise our sole recourse as defined by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence, Look it up.

Obama is a treasonous tyrant and his illegal assumption of unconstitutional powers and takeover of America is a Marxist coup d’etat in progress!

We have Czars and Politboros and foreign nationals running our country.

We are all as though sleepwalking in disbelief.

How quick and thorough the country's disintegration is upon us!

If Obama and his minions are so incompetent, why are they crushing conservatives so badly?

Bush wasn’t running. If he had, he would have defended himself and kicked the marxist’s butt. McCain spent half his time running against Bush and giving the marxist a pass.

It is very important that the GOP in particular remember thier elitist, empty suit, liberal, open borders, big spending Bush is the reason we are so screwed now. Should they be allowed to forget that they will give us ANOTHER elitist, big spending, open borders, liberal, and we just can not allow that to happen again. The Bush legacy is Obama, and that is a fact, jack.

Nobama won the election because ABC,CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX, MSNBC, the NY Times, the WaPo, and others in the media didn’t do their job. I believe that with fair and equal coverage, it’s either a close election or McCain wins. The fight for the future isn’t against the Dims per se, it’s against the idol makers in the press.

Don't ignore the rejection of Palin by voters. An evangelical can't win. Of course that may be George Bush's fault, too. He accepted the evangelical label.

Then again, maybe he did that to sucker in religious conservatives. "Evangelical" is all some of them care about when picking a leader.

It seems to be going well for them, they just passed a carbon tax and are about to pass national health care. So I would say they are kicking our collective ass.

My “stupendous” political sense of things had already told me what was up at State, without hearing it reported by anyone; as I noted in a related thread, yesterday: (#37) at: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2291690/posts

I love that -- "a senior U.S. official" -- Hillary will be out, but I don't think it will be soon. There are so many crises, and so many prospects for more fronts in the War On Terror (as long as one doesn't call it that), not to mention the probability of another preemptive strike by Israel (if not Iran, Lebanon; if not Lebanon, Gaza), that even the incompetent Sock Puppet wouldn't make himself look that bad. Hillary may be kicked out, or she may resign in disgust. Obama would probably prefer to either keep her where she is until after his 2012 re-election (or attempted re-election, as I know we all hope), or push her from behind into some hopeless diplomatic debacle in order to humiliate and minimize her.

I don’t know which is scarier, that Michelle Obama was paid over $300k/year working 20hrs/wk for a healthcare group which received a million dollar grant from Congress while her husband was a Congressman back circa 2002, or that for each Michelle, there are at least another 100 others out there engaged in the same, if not more corrupt affairs.

I sense that U.S. foreign policy is being almost completely run by the Czars. Hillary has been MIA for what, almost a month now?

Then today, Hillary is scheduled to come out of hiding with a major policy speech which had been hyped for days. So what happens? 0bama upstages her by quickly scheduling a talk over at the Rose Garden.

Looks like the unholy marriage between the ‘bama and her thighness is starting to hit rough waters.
