Maj. Stefan F. Cook, who is refusing to be deployed because of his belief in conspiracy theories about President Barack Obamas citizenship, is a member of, and frequent poster at, the conservative Website FreeRepublic.
Cook, who posts under the name roaddog727, revealed his identity in a post about the veteran networking site Together We Served. .

Hes been a member of the site for nearly six years; on his profile page he calls himself a staunch Republican and defender of the faith and lists his favorite authors as Robert A. Heinlein, Larry Niven, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clarke, Tom Clancey (sic), John Milton.
Cook wasnt always so worried about deployment. In February 2005, he informed fellow Freepers that hed gotten new orders. .
. Cooks FreeRepublic posts are all over the map, from IT issues to global warming denialism. .
He put out early hints that he was working with Orly Taitz. In March, he posted an incoherent white paper on Obamas citizenship, appending a message to fellow Freepers.
And they are trying to attack and minimalize Maj. Cook by associating him with "Those crazies at Free Republic".
TO THE MODS: I put this in "Breaking" because it specificly mentions Free Republic
Go Dog Go!!!!
God, I love this place!
Is it wise to out Maj Cook on this thread?
The Obama attack machine is already going after a firefighter and Sarah Palins children and now they have Maj Cook too??
DUAC might need a recruitment drive.
We are so proud of you! Don’t drop this suit now. If they can’t legally issue orders, they cannot legally rescend orders.
Prayers up!
At least his favorite authors aren’t: Bernadine Dorn, Bill Ayers, Saul Alinsky, Karl Marx, etc. like our beloved current president.
Please don’t blow them up or anything. You’ll need reinforcements first =o)
Citizens Unite!

Those are my favorite authors too, along with Orson Scott Card
Good find. The left is following those Alinsky rules.
If this keeps up, Olbermann’s going to be calling Jim Thompson the worst person in the known universe!
Cheers!
I suppose that puts you into alpha freeperhood as well. That’s 2 new nominees in 2 days. God Bless you for your efforts.
Impressive collection of authors by Maj Cook..
The only books that DailyKooks and iDUots read require crayons...
Rules of the radicals...
“Is it wise to out Maj Cook on this thread?”
He’s ALREADY been outed, by this, and on Daily KOS earlier in the day.
You’ll note it goes from a KOS posting, into the lefty media in a matter of hours?
Semper Fi, Major!
Up yours, Zero!
Too late. Every soldier should be a freeper.
I posted about ten comments on that thread earlier today, only concentrating on my coverage of this issue. There might have been other commenters on my general side, but I don’t recall any.
It would be nice if I weren’t the only one who could leave comments on such sites, but apparently there are filters in place, or something.
Hundreds of so-called “impartial” journalists (aka presstitutes) belong to Huffington Post, the Democratic Underground, MoveOn, Daily Kos and God-knows-how-many other crazy, left-wing sites, but one Army Reservist posting here is news? So they’re going to do a “Joe the Plumber” on this major? Will we be hearing about his marriage, credit report, etc.? I’m almost glad my father didn’t live to see what they’ve done to the country he fought for in two wars...
Fair enough. Thanks
Huurrrraaaaagghh,,,GIVE EM’ HELL MAJOR!!!(salute),,,
So what is Coke Zero going to do when hundreds of our soldiers refuse to follow orders until he proves he is a citizen?
Good question...? I guess he was revealed from another source.
Honestly - this seems like a big deal. Why provide fodder to the left?
Please consider calling Mark Levin, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity to further get the word out about your noble cause.
The Obama machine is a very vindictive and nasty one, so I hope that you will be alright while you are defending yourself against them.
I hope when they come to arrest us all I get rounded up with Lazamataz, you know that's going to be the party Gulag.
“Cooks FreeRepublic posts are all over the map, from IT issues to global warming denialism.”
“Denialism” is not a word. FAIL.
Why the surprise? The Kos poster probably just passed it from his cubicle to the reporter's. Hell, they may even share the same cubicle ... "...not that there's anything wrong with that..." LOL
And this is gigantic news to them, why?
On KOS in the last 48 hours, I have noticed diaries posted by TWO US Senators, several congressmen, several media types, and DOXENS of “Issue Groups”.
KOS has become the clearing house for manipulating the news to a leftist viewpoint. Every week now, it seems yet ANOTHER Mainstream Media member is outed as a KOS poster.
> Honestly - this seems like a big deal. Why provide fodder to the left?
This is why I was asking. Prior to now it was only news on an obscure rag in Washington. Now it is being openly discussed on the FRee Republic. Much easier for people to find now.
Not that he has anything to be ashamed about (he’s done bloody brilliant!) why make it easier for his enemies to find him? Now they can (and will) grok all his earlier posts trying to find ammo — stuff they can take out of context.
We should be smarter than that.
Maj. Cook is a global warming denier? Oh Noez! Not that! ;)
Ping #31. Why I was asking...
HE should be proud to be a freeper.
> HE should be proud to be a freeper.
Sure he should be. But why should the Bad Guys be alerted to all his prior posts in a nice convenient manner, so that they can maybe take them out of context and make him look silly, just because we HAVE TO spill the beans?
Just because something CAN be discussed doesn’t mean that it OUGHT to. Just sayin’.
He’s ALREADY been outed by DAILY KOS, which is where this originated, early in the day.
If the pansy boy Weigel knows, the Kos girls won’t be far behind.
I love the listing of the defendants in the case as mentioned over at World Net Daily:
Named as defendants in the case are Col. Wanda Good, Col. Thomas Macdonald, Secretary of Defense Robert Gates and Obama, described as “de facto president of the United States.”
LOL! Good one! Count me in. I'll also be likely to be in a music group like that string quartet playing music on the Titanic trying to keep everyone's hopes up.
the biggest obstacle for the “birthers” has been LEGAL STANDING...
United States Military Officers are, BY OATH, pledged to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, both foriegn AND Domestic.
They swear thier oath to the CONSTITUTION, and not to the leadership, unlike the enlisted oath, which includes obeying the orders of officers AND the President.
And THAT is what gives them legal standing. Lawful orders CANNOT be issued by an unlawful leader, and that precedent came out of THE NUREMBURG TRIALS...
MANY Officers I know have the same doubts about Obama as this Major, but FEW have the balls to follow through like this Major has done. This could very well open the floodgates, and encourage others..
Well yikes. Looks like "loose lips" really do "shink ships"
He needs to resign his commission and get out of the service and pursue this in civilian courts. I was a grunt it baffles me how an officer can command or deserve respect from the grunts when he does not obey the orders of his superiors.
a man of great courage ping to roaddog727
“He needs to resign his commission and get out of the service and pursue this in civilian courts.”
What is so hard for some to understand??
If he resigns, then he has NO LEGAL STANDING....
Where's the news value in this? He's an American citizen and soldier who has reasonable cause to question the right of the President to occupy his office under the Constitution and is seeking adjudication of the matter. Frankly it's an important constitutional issue, not merely with regard to Obama's qualifications, but with regard to standing. Who cares if he posts here or what his moniker is? Am I unaware of some sinister aspect of FR? This is a ridiculous article, with all the appearance of a news piece, but nothing of substance.
Not sure if you saw this one!
