Ousted president calls for Honduras insurrection

Deposed Honduran leader Manuel Zelaya has called for a popular insurrection in his country so he can be returned to power after soldiers removed him at gunpoint in June. "The Honduran people have the right to insurrection," said Zelaya, speaking in the neighboring Central American country of Guatemala.

Insurrection is a legitimate democratic right "when faced with a usurping government and a coup-supporting military," he added, urging his supporters in Honduras to strike, march and engage in civil disobedience because that is "a necessary process when the democratic order of a country is disrupted.

I want to tell you to not leave the streets, that is the only space that they have not taken from us," he told a news conference alongside Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom.

Zelaya has issued an ultimatum to the interim government led by Roberto Micheletti that it must relinquish power within the week and demanding his own immediate restitution.

But in the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa, acting foreign minister Carlos Lopez said that authorities were still committed to talks aimed at finding a peaceful resolution with Zelaya on Friday in San Jose, mediated by Costa Rican President Oscar Arias.

"We are not issuing threats," said Lopez, who emphasized that Micheletti's government was in control and the country was at peace.

"We removed the curfew and the government has complete control of the territory."

Leaders of the new Honduran regime, who have not been recognized by the international community, refuse to describe their move as a coup d'etat.

Honduras has become increasingly isolated by its neighbors, and the coup was roundly condemned by the United States.

This piece illustrates the historisity of the fact that a deposed leader must be killed, not exiled.

Zeyala is setting the stage for a sandinista style war. Sitting with Arias to "listen not discuss" was a ploy to accomplish two things...

1. Appear to be a reasonable player in the eyes of the world.

2. Buy time needed to put things in place on the ground both inside Honduras and across the border in Nicaragua.

Chavez, ortega and the Castros will provide the muscle to get things rolling.

Obama will supply the silence and will continue to freeze all US assistance to Honduras.

The marxist led OAS will make ineffective noise about hemisperal peace and the UN will join the chorus.

Asymmetrical warfare favors the insurgency in the sense that conventional wisdom holds that the Government must have at least a 10:1 numbers superiority just to stay even. The government must also have the resources to fight what could likely become a decade-long war. Honduras relies on Washington for things military. Where will they turn for re-supply? For intel?

Obama & Hillary, coupled with the communist dictatorships (Russian armed) of Castro, Ortega & Hugo, plus despicable Marxist elitist worms such as Oscar Arias (who is harbouring leftist Zelaya) are all instigating a communist insurrection against the conservative Honduran government of President Roberto Micheletti (shown below with supporters).

How will Obama state he is not 'very publicly meddling' in the affairs of Honduras?

Obama's leftist agenda could care less about the citizens of Honduras wanting a free nation -- not a communist dictatorship.

Zelaya is a lost cause with or without Barry support. I mean geez, can’t we all see and acknowledge the massive Hondurian support for the return of Zelaya to power? =.=

“oh yes we have the right of insurrection, but to kill Zelaya for the $ 204,000,000 lost by the state telephone company. Also because of the $ 2.5 million stealed of the central bank to pay for that ilegality. and now he threatens to come back.”

Heck the US has that beat by about 1000 fold and we still have the guy sitting on the throne.

Hello Honduras, please feel free to condemn the US for supporting Marxist dictators.

thanks for your support, we need it a lot.

We need truth to be known.

BTW a CID Gallup poll recently showed our conservative candidate leading.
If he wins, the republican that wins the next US election (I hope a rep. could win!) will have a close ally on our conservative government(if we win)

The words of Admiral Carlos Maximum Turchia Aniasi were issued during the act of transfer of command d, made this Tuesday.

‘We must be vigilant. What happened in Venezuela in April 2002 is a fundamental difference with what happened in Honduras, because our Commander in Chief (President Hugo Chávez) is not out of the country, while at the President Manuel Zelaya yes.

We need to disentangle these schemes. Is it coincidence ‘Or what is happening there is a laboratory in the search for the perfect formula to be applied against countries where governments do not obey the interests of the powerful, “said Turchi Aniasi.

In this sense, the new head of the Navy promised that his administration will move ahead strongly in building socialism and to serve the people, while adding that no weapons will be used against the latter but to safeguard the homeland.

The words of the officer were issued during the act of transfer of command of the General Command of the Bolivarian Navy, made this Tuesday at the Naval School of Venezuela Admiral Sebastian Francisco de Miranda Rodriguez, located in the so-called Plateau Mamo, in Catia La Mar , Vargas state, where the admiral Zahím Quintana Castro handed over the post of commanding general, after two years of exercise.

He highlighted the increase in operational capability of the Navy through the exchange of components with counterparts in other countries such as Russia, the Netherlands Antilles, Brazil and Colombia. From the Bolivarian News Agency
