Michigan's unemployment rate for June of 2009 jumped to 15.2%. That's a 1.1% increase over the prior month.
Rates usually climb or fall by a few tenths of a percent. It's rare to see such a substantial increase or decrease.
But experts say the struggling economy combined with the ailing auto market means Michigan has been hit harder than other states.
We'll have much more on the numbers and what it means for Michigan tonight on 6 News at 5 and 6.

and soon it will become REAL unemployment, not the Michigan Sham Unemployment where you take a furlough and collect unemployment + UAW sub-pay for a 13-week paid vacation.
Michigan’s unemployment rate is headed for 20%. Once 0bamacare kicks in and the insurance/health-related companies layoff, we’ll be thankful for the 15.2%.

None of this is unintended. The Messiah knew this would happen. Notice he is not at all concerned. Notice he continues on with his drive to nationalize industry and healthcare and impose an energy tax on ordinary Americans.
If Bush were president, the media would be demanding his impeachment.
Bush is not president, and the media is very happy with the current president and doesn’t care one bit about all those who are being hurt by his policies.
He’s going to train them for his new green jobs since the old ones are gone for good.
These job losses are not necessarily 0bama’s fault. Bad corporate management, corrupt parasitical unions, poor labor work ethic, government regulation, all had a hand over the decades in destroying Michigan’s economic base. It’s just that 0bama is going out of his way to destroy what little is left, instead of trying to rebuild it.
Look at all those jobs Obama is saving, just don’t look at the numbers of job losses.
Many at FR are too busy dissing our state to mess with facts. They assume "union" right away.
I hate to say you got what you wanted, but there are others there that voted against him...
But those that voted for this idiot without doing a 15 minute search, you deserve what you get!
