So what? Then I guess that means that I’m guilty of being a slaver because I’m white just like she can claim some sort of standing as a descendant of a slave because she’s black?
My ancestors, even though primarily Southern, did not own slaves but they fought for their “country” (Mississippi, Alabama & Virginia). I’m pretty certain that they fought the War of Northern Aggression rather than FOR slavery, reading some of the letters within the family. But they were poor as church mice. And in our family you still don’t mention the name of...Sherman. If they see this post, I’m dead meat.
For my Yankee friends that think this might be silly, I warn you, don’t do it (mention that name), not in front of my kinfolks that is. {;O)
