Don't forget, he was struck by lighting on the crucifix while filming “the Passion”

His best film was High Crimes and that was over 7 years ago. He did a few others since then but probably does pick and chose what he wants to be in. A great family man does not equal well known actor.

Well how about Thin Red Line? That was the first I ever saw of him. I think it’s a great movie. I guess it’s really an antiwar movie, but it didn’t seem overloaded with doctrine or politics. There was room to admire the guys you were supposed to hate.

Check out his new flick “Outlander.” Not a bad sci-fi flick that went straight to video. WELL worth a rental.

Prayers for your cousin. I don’t ride as much as I did years ago. It is just too crazy for me. I’ve gone down a few times but it hasn’t ever stopped me from riding. My 9 yr old daughter does though.

I was just telling my family how much fun motorcycling is, but that it is very dangerous.

Back in the day, I rode on/off road. Once crashed and suffered a knee injury. I wasn’t even traveling at a high speed, but it took the knee decades before there was a full recovery. Grant it, I didn’t go through physical therapy when I should have, and I neglected to baby the knee, but nonetheless.......

A friend of mine got into a nasty wreck a few months back. Messed himself up pretty good. Lost a finger, messed up a shoulder and a lung.

Most of my family and friends that ride haven’t experienced life threatening accidents, but the risk is there—every time you ride.

I know about those joint injuries. For some of us they take forever to heal. Whether it’s a sprained ankle, or bashed my knee on a rock wiping out mountain biking, I can expect it to take about five years for it to stop hurting. And the older you get, the more careful you get, because the life God gives us goes by faster and faster, and becomes more precious, and may we appreciate the time we’ve been given even more, because it ain’t gonna last forever.

“A great family man does not equal well known actor.”

And just because you haven’t seen a majority of his films doesn’t mean he isn’t well known. It’s all relative.

If you asked the average person in their late teens/early twenties who Humphrey Bogart is, they’d probably look at you and ask if he’s a baseball player.

Have you seen I Am David or The Count of Monte Cristo? Great films, if you like that sort of movie.

He did another pretty good movie recently called Outlander.

I've had it on my Netflix list for a while now, but it always shows as "very long wait. (same for Gran Torino)" I wonder sometimes if they have very few copies of the more popular movies (sighing).

I don’t ride anymore, except for an occasional spin on the bicycle. My family would never allow me, and I don’t want to take the risk.

Heard about an acquaintances friend. The father was a rancher. Hopped on his quad to check the herd, I believe. He never returned alive. Crashed his quad in a freak accident and died in the field. Tragic loss.

We all live with risk, but some risks are higher than others, if you know what I mean.

With all the NASCAR wannabes out on the roads, I sure don’t want to leave my life in their hands.

Do you know about Netflix’s little known practice called “Throttling”? If not, you should read up on it. This may be the reason you’re having to wait for those films on your queue.

Incidentally, Gran Torino is a great film, if you can endure the foul language and violence.

“I wonder sometimes if they have very few copies of the more popular movies (sighing)”.

No doubt of that with Netflix. I got tired of their stupid profile engine showing me movies from decades ago, and hiding all first run films, unless you specifically put them in by NAME.

I’m so glad my husband sold his Harley a year ago.

Fractures are bad enough, but pulverized joints just don't heal. I recall one young guy who fell asleep while riding. Horrible.

We own the DVD. Sadly the producers/screenwriters took liberties with the film compared to Dumas’ novel, but we do enjoy the movie and great performances by the cast.
