Why a "Jobless Recovery" Fits Perfectly into the Obama Game Plan
His Master's Voice | 7/18/09 | HMV

Posted on 07/18/2009 9:50:10 AM PDT by Hillary'sMoralVoid

Even a casual observer of the Obama administration cannot help but notice the lack of concern about the unemployment rate from the president on down.

Obama himself has casually talked about unemployment hitting 10%, his economic advisors have spoken with uncharacteristic candor about a "jobless recovery' and there is no urgency anywhere within the administration to treat the problem.

Further, the Stimulus package has been anything but a long-term job creator. In fact, much of the stimulus is merely a hodge-podge of short-term projects, heavy on pork, but short on lasting economic impact.

Conversely, the administration seems to be pursuing a strategy that ensures continued joblessness. The urgency seems to ignore the taxpayer and the American worker. The recent Cap and Trade and healthcare drafts have mirrored the stimulus package -- little or no long-term job creation, but plently of pork.

Why the urgency to spend our way to economic Armageddon, why no urgency for long-term job growth?

It doesn't take a cynic to reach one unassailable conclusion -- the Obama Administration is creating high unemployment for a reason. But what is that reason?

Remember Rahm Emmanuel's guiding principle, "a crisis is a terrible thing to waste".

We sometimes forget that four years is a long time and that the American public has an attention span of about 15 seconds. An unemployment rate of 15% in the summer of 2010 would require some draconian measures to effect a recovery. The Democrat congress will still be in place and the jobs crisis would be the number one issue. Other than jobs, the econmy will prbably be recovering slowly.

This is a crisis that any socialist would savor -- high unemployment with little private sector job growth. Enter El Presidente on his white stallion to bestow a public works program on the American people to "solve" the unemployment crisis.

How convenient, just before the 2010 elections, the administration ramrods a "public works" program that "creates" millions of new jobs.

The administration now has another notch in its belt. It has taken over most of the automobile manufacturing, has an enormous stake in the nation's healthcare and energy sectors, and now runs the biggest jobs program in the history of the world.

What's more, the huge deficits incurred from the spend and tax programs ensure that the crisis will no tend, as inflation will raise is ugly head just after the 2010 elections.

Does the American public see this coming? Are they willing to take their minds off topics like Michael Jackson to do anything about it?

The more people receiving unemployment, the more people dependent on the government.

If you think the average American in 2010 is going to be content with a public works job, I got beach front property to sell you in Nevada.

You can barely get the average American to get off his butt to switch the channel, much less go out in the heat and help build a bridge.

I have been saying this all along.

We are in permanent depression and the Dems like it like that. Think FDR and the hopelessness of Socialism. Its here and Americans are too stupid to resist.

If you have children, you have better start a firm that can hire them. Otherwise, they will be at the mercy of Socialist predators who will enslave them will low pay (for the common good), long hours and meager entitlements.

And I would be careful posting on FREEP. Once the economy falls completely apart and the Dems seize unrecoverable control, ACORN and other groups will appear at your door, burn your house down, murder you and your family or simply imprison you for rebelling against “The One.”

Obama is leading a Marxist revolution. Unless you are a liberal elite, you will be destroyed.

Mark my words. The Republicans will NEVER regain the House or Senate or Presidency.

I would leave the US if I could find a country that hasn’t drank the KoolAid of Socialism.

"Jobless recovery"

"Hot is cold"

"Up is down" etc......

How "Orwellian"

"...much of the stimulus is merely a hodge-podge of short-term projects, heavy on pork, but short on lasting economic impact." "Say... run that by me again...I think that's the wrong speech."
"Uh... while they're adjusting the teleprompter...
you are getting sleepier and sleepier and sleepier..."

Americans may pass on public works but I can see millions of illegals returning to get their little bit of public works, millions of new voters.

The health care legislation is also a job killer

1. The public option is the obvious Trojan horse that will kill private plans. Think of Standard Oil in the early 20th century selling their products under cost forever to gain market share. Even better the government plan won’t have to pay taxes
2. The surtax on the “wealthy” and small businesses will result in job losses, furloughs, wage cuts, reduced discretionary consumer spending.
3. Health care providers will face lower reimbursement and more regulation resulting in providers and hospitals slowing down and shutting down. I have heard that one regulation forces patients to obtain a referral to see a specialist. This may force independent specialists out of business.
4. Even if the government adds health care bureaucrats to administer their programs, they will have an incentive to restrict service as a way to curtail costs. Government excels at incompetence which will reduce utilization.
5. Government control will also lead to consolidation. Consolidation and wage reductions will also lead to unionization. We all know that unions reduce productivity and kill jobs.

The economy and it’s destruction is PART of his plan. Can’t have socialism with a booming Capitalist system, people aren’t desperate at all under a Capitalist system because they are creating every thing they need. Take their jobs away and people get desperate enough to accept Government help, its a last resort, and so they have to make things bad enough for everyone in order to force the greatest number into Government dependency.

I am starting to think a Meteoroid hitting Washington DC might actually make things better for the rest of the nation.

More like the Blowhard-Pinhead strategy.

I don’t think he’s accounted on a surly electorate in 2010.

He and his fellow socialists are seeking total domination of the electorate before 11/2010.

If you vote against him, your public benefits will mysteriously disappear.

Actually, it almost doesn’t matter who is in the White House. The Government bureaucracy has been hopelessly infiltrated and assimilated to the Leftist cause.
