Humanity as the second orang-utan (Evos drop bombshell, human-chimp ancestry in question!!!)
Science Literature ^ | David Tyler

Posted on 07/18/2009 7:17:27 PM PDT by GodGunsGuts

The world of human phylogeny has been hit by a bombshell. Although scholars and textbooks are presenting chimpanzees as man's closest relatives, Grehan and Schwartz have revived the case for orangutans. They consider hominoids to be comprised of two sister clades: the human-orangutan clade (dental hominoids) and the chimpanzee-gorilla clade (African apes). They claim that humans and orangutans "share a common ancestor that excludes the extant African apes". Since it is received wisdom that chimps are the nearest relative to humans because we share over 98% of their genes and since humans are referred to as the "third chimpanzee", the ramifications of the new paper are immense!...

So much for Allmendream's open and shut phylogenetic case for chimps being closer to humans than to the other great apes! Now the high priests of the Temple of Darwin are saying that we are more closely related to orangutans. And no doubt, should the Temple of Darwin throw out the Chimp (and embrace the Orangutan) as humanity's closest living relative, the rest of the Evos will obediently follow.

Talk about belonging in religion!

I know you don’t accept the evo theory, but I hope you still enjoy debating this question.

If it were true that ‘man’ evolved from ‘the apes’, is it then possible that different races evolved from different ‘ancestors’????

Is it possible some men evolved from African apes, and some from Orangutans?

This should be fun.

Thanks for the ping.

Personally I think I’m evolved from Adam.

Just sayin’.

That could be true. In college I dated a guy I swear was descended from a gorilla.

No, the Bible says that man was specially created by God on the sixth day of creation.

But just out of curiousity, what’s your argument exactly? That the different races evolved from different colored apes?

As for me, I don’t think I will get much disagreement when I say I am a degenerated descendant of Adam and Eve :o)

Agreed. And poorly stated by me.

Devolved from Adam would be more accurate.

Adam was without sin.

I certainly am not. Not by a long shot.

God has a sense of humor. He made us just close enough that when my wife's best friend went to the zoo with her long flowing red hair they asked her to leave. The dominant male orangutan was attacking the glass.

You're not trying to draw conclusions based upong visual evidence are you?

I mean.. if you think about the possibilty, and then... look around. You kind of have to go, Hmnnnnnn??

Not different 'colors' but different 'species'.

For instance, organgutans and African Apes.

My 'argument' is not that they did. My argument is that if is possible we 'did' evolve from mammals just below us, then it is possible we evolved from several different species.

I don't think 'scientists' will accept that point of view, as it would come off as being racial.

Wouldn't that be ironic???? They wouldn't be able to accept the truth of their theory, because it went a little too far.

After the unrelenting campaign by the Temple of Darwin to convince the populace that their evo-religious assumptions are true...I'd say it very much is a bombshell.

Not at all. Just asking some thought provoking questions.
