Washington Post Poll: Growing Numbers See Obama as Old Style, Tax and Spend Democrat

Lots of interesting data from the ABC News/Washington Post poll today. Read a summary of the top line findings here.

The four-month trend in the question below is probably producing a Rolaids moment for Obama. The overall results are troubling enough. But I suspect the numbers are even worse among swing voters. Unfortunately the poll doesn’t report results among independents. However, support for Obama dropped off almost immediately after inauguration day among Republicans. Democrats still strongly support the president. So lots of the movement in the chart below probably comes from independents growing disenchanted with Obama, a trend evident in a number of other polls like this and this.

These Americans are growing increasingly frustrated with the gap between the president’s moderate rhetoric and the liberal policies produced by Congress. Their concerns are manifested in results like this:

Which of these statements comes closer to your view: (Beneath it all, Obama is an old-style, tax-and-spend Democrat) OR (Obama is a new-style Democrat who will be careful with the public's money).

“exactly... why did they think he was any different?”

Honestly, I seriously doubt that there was any thought put into him at all. I pray that those who voted for him choke on that “hope-n-change” crap.

And 0bama will get on the TV Wed. night and (hopefully break into dancing with the stars and piss people off even further) to sell his atrocities and threaten that; we all don’t support nurses if we don’t support ObamaCare.

NEWSFLASH to RAHM: it ain’t workin no more.

Exactly! Even Democrats here are calling him a Marxist but it is Oklahoma. He only got 34% of votes in Oklahoma in 2008, and I would bet he wouldn’t even get 25% today here. Doubt if they poll Oklahomans.

Wanna bet on whether 0bama on Wed. night when he cuts in on prime time AGAIN says again-don’t listen to the naysayers?

He thinks it will work.

It is like two different people. I don’t think I have ever seen such a disconnect between a campaign and someone who was elected and how they govern. His way of governing with all the Czars at $182,000 a Czar plus 10 employees each should be a red flag for everyone that he wants no accountability. He wants to be a dictator but even the Dems are starting to wake up a little.

No one spends over $1M to keep their records of birth, schooling, and passport secret. What a waste of money and what is he hiding?

I haven't either.

The blessing in disguise may be how he overplayed Porkulus, which ain't "stimulating" anything but state and local government. It's so bad the public is getting skeptical about his health care plans.

Perhaps the dumbbells are finally coming out of their comas.
My, My. The most liberal member of the Senate blew smoke up their arses during the campaign, they voted for him and now after a mere 6 months they are having buyers remorse.

I've been around a long time and there are some things that NEVER change with most Democrats:
-Soft on crime
-Expect no personal responsibility from their constituents
-Weak on national defense
-Loathe the U.S. miliary
-Lack of Statesmenship/Strong on street politics

Fox is all over the dropping poll numbers and is questioning the urgency factor of the health care reform big time!

I think you are correct that he has overplayed his hand and he did it a lot quicker then I thought he would.

I’m increasingly thinking his health care disaster isn’t going to happen before the Summer recess. Still, he might be able to Rahm it through the House this Fall using his bare-knuckle Chicago style, but I see real trouble in the Senate. It’s just gonna get tougher as his numbers fall. We may yet win this one!

One must also remember that Obama stole his Senate seat in the first place. Illegally accessed the divorce court records of his opponent (Ryan) who was way ahead in the Senate race and gave to all his drooling press whores.

I do not believe any poll that comes from the MSM. Rasmussen is the only poll I put any trust in.

Buyers Remorse has found the swing voter, who was so disgusted with many of the Bush administrations moves they were willing to buy into the “anyone is better than Bush” stuff.. now they have realized they were wrong and this guys a dud, and are and will be deserting this schlub in droves.

This guy will be lame duck by the end of the year.

Washington Post Poll: Growing Numbers See Obama as Old Style, Tax and Spend Democrat

Wash Post is sugar-coating the bad news, as usual.

The true headline, if told: "Growing Numbers See Obama as Extreme anti-American Communist, Marxist, Islamist, Terrorist, Usurper, Pretender, Fraudulent POS"

Obama, looking like an aging gay pimp, declined to comment.
