Following the mad recommendations of Peter Singer made in NYT's Sunday magazine, it pays to take a look at what is actually in the healthcare bill.
It's worse than you can possibly imagine. Somehow, it manages to be Singer on steroids. Who wrote this bill. It has Singer's footprints all over it.

As far as i can tell, they talk about the orders for people who are older on social security. every 5 years it is mandatory that they talk to them about what type of health care proxy they want. who can be their proxy to talk for them if they cant talk for themselves. How much care they want, ie life support, drugs, iv feeding, or pull the plug if it looks bad etc.
But the language is not clear and end of life services can also easily be interpreted to mean assisted suicide
the whole bill is garbage and needs to be trashed.

I don;t know about anybody else, but when I had surgery I picked my orthopedic surgeon, picked a neurosurgeon to move my spinal chord and even picked my anesthesiologist who was going to put me under. I was damn careful to make sure i had the best of the best i could get. I literally had seen 17 specialists before i got these three together to work on me.
Imagine that happening with this plan now? HA!
I would be lucky to get the surgery to begin with. More than half the doctors i spoke with said I was a hopeless case and didn’t want to work on me at all!
If I need that again, what am i supposed to do, take some bottom of the barrel surgeon who knows squat about my problem and let him take a “crack” at it ...
This is a nightmare. A genuine NIGHTMARE. I want to wake up and be back in The land of the free and home of the brave.

The cost of which has not been completely figured out yet i think. The CBO said that the trillion dollar figure that they came up with did not include the administrative costs of administering the plan.

For such a smart man zero should realize that he is pushing too far, too fast, too hard.
You can’t back people into corners like this. They will do anything to get out.
What will happen if this actually passes?
Imagine what the outrage will be when senior citizens who are in contact with their doctors regularity are told that they will now have benefits cut?
Even the true believers will be pissed, maybe more so than us, because then they too will realize that they have been screwed, but adding to their misery will be the fact that they were duped by this guy. Then the resentment of that will seethe in them on top of all this.
I really think that will happen too, especially when these younger people who believed in the hope and change see their older relatives die because of lack of treatment to save money.
Right now they believe his lies, they think he is their savior. What will happen when they realize that they were duped to such a degree and used like “useful idiots”?

many doctors have stopped taking Medicare patients because the government takes too long to pay and process forms now.
Imagine what is going to happen after they cut the payments that they give to doctors!
Forget specialists, they won’t make the big bucks for all that education and specialization. They will be paid the same as a regular md without a specialization.
Where will you find a brain surgeon? nuro surgeon? cardio?
our technology and surgical skills will decline from less people competing and sharing information.
FIND one if you need one they will be in high demand, it will take 10 times longer to get an appointment to be seen let alone get treatment if you need it.
This is the worst piece of legislation from a medical standpoint that ever existed. It is even worse when you think of the implications to freedom of choice or privacy of your information.
