Report: Obamas to Rent Martha's Vineyard Farmhouse for August Vacation

President Obama and the first family will rent a scenic farm house on Martha's Vineyard for their vacation during the last week of August, the Vineyard Gazette reported Monday.
The Blue Heron Farm -- located on the island's western end in Chilmark -- is a sprawling 28.5-acre private residential compound with a white Victorian farm house, apple orchard, swimming pool, golf practice tee, basketball half-court, private dock with kayaks, and a basement movie theater.

Though the cost of the vacation spot has not been disclosed, island rentals comparable to the farm rent for between $35,000 to $50,000 per week, according to the newspaper.
A rental agreement for The Blue Heron -- managed by Tom Wallace of Wallace & Co. Sotheby's International Reality -- reportedly includes three leases: one held by the Obamas, another by the Secret Service and a third by White House staff.
The farm was purchased for $20.35 million by owners William and Mollie Van Devender of Jackson, Miss., in 2005. At the time it reportedly was the second highest price paid for a single residential property in the history of Martha's Vineyard.
The farm's previous owners -- wealthy real estate developer Tony Fisher and wife Anne -- hosted a lavish dinner party there for Bill and Hillary Clinton in 1998. The Fishers died in a plane crash in 2003.

It always amazes me that a person can go in politics, either R or D, and before long they are making millions of dollars in a job that pays between $150,000 to $400,000. I should be become a politician and just become a corrupt criminal and make millions while the American public is losing jobs, houses and soon lives, if O gets the socialized health care plan passed.

John Kennedy was flying to Marthas with his wife and sister in law and died in a plane crash just before declaring his run for the open Senate seat of Senator Moynihan.....
Just a coincidence! We know porr John was allegely a poor pilot! But a small detail, all of his Instructors had the highest praise and he had many more hours than alleged..

Yup- but you see these guys are “champions of the poor” Just ask Maxine Waters, Barbara Boxer, and Dianne Feinstein who have made millions of dollars since they entered politics.
Both Oshama and the Clintons made their millions on book advances, the Clintons post-office and Zero pre-office.
They were poor as dirt before they got famous. Even the peanut farmer worked and made some $ before he sat in the Oval. To get their hands grubby is too beneath the Clintons and Dumbo.

It is ABSOLUTELY fair to say that if Bush vacationed at $35,000/week, if his wife wore $400 sneakers to a charity photo-op, if his wife wore cheezy, expensive designer outfits during a major recession, the media spin would have been devastatingly negative. But with little, hairless, baby boy Obama and his BEAUTIFUL wife, it’s all just so lovely and exciting. I spit on the media.
No, this is on the upscale end - very beautiful - rolling farmland and very old stone walls.
