It's good practice to take a person at his word until someone shows you proof he is lying.

Barack Obama says he was born in Hawaii, and since no one has shown any proof he was born in Kenya or elsewhere, it's OK to conclude he was born in Hawaii.

Sure his grammar school records show that he was enrolled as an Indonesian Muslim, but some people will say anything to get their kid in the right school. It doesn't really answer the question.

It's OK though for others not to use my deferential standard and continue to question whether Obama was born in Hawaii. We aren't talking about a 12-year-old qualifying to play Little League here. There is a Constitutional mandate that the President be a natural-born citizen, and if Obama is not one, he certainly will have committed the biggest fraud since the White Sox threw the World Series.

The reason why people still question Obama's citizen status is one-fold: "President Transparency" has refused to release any original documents on the matter. He can end the controversy in a day by releasing original documents, but for some inexplicable reason he refuses, and his love-struck media never asks him why he won't. The media instead spends hell-bent hours on making the Birther movement look like fringy, conspiracy-hungry kooks.

You have to admit though, even if you are a devout Obama-bot, Obama's refusal to release any original documents makes for a newsworthy story by itself.

No he couldn't. If he's telling the absolute truth, was born in Hawaii, his mother was Stanley Ann Dunham Obama, and most importantly his father was Barack Hussien Obama, British Colonial Subject of Her Majesty the Queen of the United Kingdom.

It's that last little detail that should have been adjudicated, long ago, and would have been if not for asinine arguments of "standing" and "case or controversy", along with a bunch big Bucks from 'Rat donors.

If he has a valid Birth Certificate, why doesn’t he release it to the public? I’m still puzzled why Chairman BO wants to keep this issue alive? Is he that stupid, or does he have something to hide? Nothing about this issue makes sense.

Susan Nordyke was born at 2:12 p.m. Hawaii time and was given No. 151 – 61 – 10637, which was filed with the Hawaii registrar Aug. 11, 1961.

Gretchen Nordyke followed at 2:17 p.m. and was given No. 151 – 61 – 10638, which was also filed with the Hawaii registrar Aug. 11, 1961.

According to a version of Obama's purported short-form certificate available from FactCheck.org, Obama was given a higher registration number than the Nordyke twins. The online image indicates the number is No. 151 – 1961 – 10641, even though he was born Aug. 4, 1961, the day before the twins, and his birth was registered with the Hawaii registrar three days earlier, Aug. 8, 1961.

The middle figure in Obama's purported registration also is different than the Nordykes'. Obama's is 1961, indicating the year, while the Nordykes' is merely 61.

That last difference is not any big deal, other CoLB's from the period show the full year

Only applies to overseas births. If born in Hawai`i, and BHO Sr was his father, BHO Jr. was a citizen at birth (14th amendment) but not necessarily a natural born citizen.

And suppose an immigrant couple from Russia who despised the system there and risked death to have their baby born in the US to be a citizen had a child who was raised with more of a knowledge of freedom because of his background and was running against someone from a family who had been here for generations and who were all Code Pinkos. I'd choose the guy from Russia.

It's not your choice if the former is not eligible. The Constitution is what it is. Don't like it? Propose an amendment. The key to what it is, is the definition, in 1787, of "natural born citizen".

Maybe, but they haven't yet determined if they are natural born citizens, it's an issue of "first impression". No applicable case law, BECAUSE, it only matters for eligibility to the office of President.

Suppose two citizens of Saudi Arabia who hate the United States come here illegally and have a baby. After a while they move back to their own country. They indoctrinate the child to hate the United States while grooming him to be President.

In addition to that, in the case of my own native country, such persons and including those who are in the United States legally, could register their child as of nationality of their native country. In no way is is fair to expect the rights of being "natural born" for those offspring.

The purpose of the Framers of the Constitution, as you state clearly, is that the filth and intrigue of European enmities and politics would not be brought to the new Republic. I would venture that - "citizens" maybe, but "natural born" absolutely no.

Truth is, if you were born on US soil and have been a citizen from birth you are on equal footing with other citizens in all ways, including running for President.

Truth is, the matter has never been adjudicated. Truth also is that some references, known to be used by the authors of the Constitution, indicate that "natural born" requires both parents to be citizens. Other people take your side of that argument. Even many liberals maintained that the test was "both parents citizens", even if they disapproved of that test. They proposed that the Constitution be amended, which is the right way to change it's meaning.

Does anyone know if that statement under the image, “Hawaii birth certificates of that era required more information than modern ones do” is true? I can’t see what they’d eliminate. I think that’s just an attempt to portray the CoLB as a true “Birth Certificate”.
