Screaming constituents, protesters dragged out by the cops, congressmen fearful for their safety — welcome to the new town-hall-style meeting, the once-staid forum that is rapidly turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.
On the eve of the August recess, members are reporting meetings that have gone terribly awry, marked by angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior. In at least one case, a congressman has stopped holding town hall events because the situation has spiraled so far out of control.
“I had felt they would be pointless,” Rep. Tim Bishop (D-N.Y.) told POLITICO, referring to his recent decision to suspend the events in his Long Island district. “There is no point in meeting with my constituents and [to] listen to them and have them listen to you if what is basically an unruly mob prevents you from having an intelligent conversation.”

Little Rickey Boucher of Va’s 9th cong. district found out the folks aren’t happy. Had a town hall meeting in Max Meadows, Va. He started off with a :30 min. talk of how wonderful things are and how He and congress are going to improve the world. Then the questions came, Why do you simply rubber stamp bills without reading them. “Well, you just don’t understand.” That set the crowd off and I do believe he was a tad scared. Not one happy camper in the crowd.
This is sickening. The whole "mob" telling him he's wrong and he defends every single position of Pelosi.
Bishop:"All evidence points to global warming being real"...
Crowd: "NOOOOOO"...
Bishop: Look of disgust -- "and I believe it is caused by human activity"
You'll be happy to know he did stop short of dropping trow and pissing on them.

I don’t think they are an ‘angry mob.’ I just think they (and the rest of the peaceful protests) got labeled that way because Bishop had nothing to say.
NEXT: 0bama will order Eric Holder to not grant permits for protests. How can the media not see through such a Hitler like act? They would side with whatever 0bama does and they don’t care about America as we know it.Watch their ratings plummet even further down.

By the way, Mr. Congressman, you and your colleagues might want to make sure that you meet with and listen to your constituents. Angry words and heated discussions hurt less than pitchforks, tar & feathers.
As long as they know the reason the “unruly mob” is pissed off is because of their support for the FAILED policies of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.
They (especially the Blue Dogs) MUST go back to DC with greater fear of their constituents than of their sock-puppet party leaders, that’s the only way we can stop this crap.
The town hall is just about the only forum we have left. I’ve heard that emails and phone calls are more likely to go in the round file. I’m tired of dealing with interns. I hope that town halls are not the next thing to go by the wayside.
Vote for no incumbent, no matter what party it belongs to.

Too bad Bishop is not my Congresscritter. MY Congresscritter, Steve Israel (right next door to Bishop’s district), doesn’t “do” Town Halls. He likes Twitter instead.

They do this because they will get away with it thanks to ACORN and other groups who scour homeless camps and housing projects. The numbers of 'Rat voters are in their favor. Every time.
