The Real Face of Obama's Open Immigration Policies
Something bad is taking place at the border.
"We're seeing a lot of MS-13, says Agent Mike Scioli of the U.S. Border Patrol. "They're typically known to be guns for hire, they're known to smuggle narcotics and human traffic across the border illegally."
MS-13 stands for Mara Salvatrucha, the most violent street gang in the western hemisphere.
Last week Border Patrol agents arrested two MS-13 members: one in Tucson and one in Nogales.
The Nogales arrestee was identified by his tattoos - - the letter M on his right bicep; the letter S on his left; the number 1 on his right triceps; the number 3 on his left.
"He was already deported from Los Angeles back to Mexico and he was attempting to re-enter to join back up with his gang," Scioli says.
Tucson's Border Patrol Sector is the busiest in the U.S. Last year its agents arrested about 317,000 illegal immigrants. Scioli says 16 percent, or almost 50,000, had some type of criminal record.
But the presence of MS-13 merits special concern.
They specialize in transporting arms and drugs across the border. Most of the weapons come from El Salvador - - the homeland of most of the gang members - - where a hand grenade sells for $10; an M-16 rifle for $200; and an AK-47 for $1,500. The Maras have made a fortune by purchasing such weapons and selling them to members of other street gangs throughout the U.S.

G-d bless you!
I know people don’t enjoy being reminded of their twenty year slumber,,,,,,,,,,not to mention bad citizenship, but reality and responsibility is the only way out of this mess.

The Salvadorans have a very effective consular and embassy staff here in DC that lobbies constantly to allow these people to stay here. We, unfortunately, have no one representing us, standing up for us, and lobbying on our behalf.

I have watched them crossed.... as well armed as they are it can be a dangerous proposition to stop them unless you are better armed then they are.... and yes the do carry ak’s openly when crossing the border.

He committed billions of dollars of military resources to Iraq and Afghanistan and nothing to protect Americas own backyard.
In fairness, the people who hijacked 4 airplanes on a sunny September morning were not from South America. That's not an excuse not to improve border security, but singling Bush out is a little silly considering how long the entire political class has endorsed open borders. It's especially silly because it sounds like you're saying you would have preferred troops along the border rather than in Afghanistan. Are you?

$200 for a M-16 and $1500 for a AK47?
Sounds like the gangs have a ready source for military grade, automatic M-16 machine guns.
Probably from the corrupt Mexican military, etc.
After all, the US Govt gave/sold many thousands of military grade weapons to the Mex Govt.
Dittos for where the Hamas, etc get theirs...U.S.Govt sources.

I dunno whats stopping the governors of Arizona, CA, Texas, and NM from putting the national guard on the border, if our federal administration is too chicken to do it.

Why does Janet Napolitano insist on ignoring the US Mexican border..and instead, wage jihad against Canada? South Park knows why. Canada is to blame!

LOL! You guys are TOO funny. I’m sure those nice men would turn away from their lives of crime if only we gave them nice homes and cushy government jobs to show how much we empathize with their plight.

The American people failed to take notice listen to the warning from those in the southwest years ago.
They failed to take notice, of the endless violent stories, and many that did notice, thought is was somehow cute or humorous. Many Americans have taken notice. Lou Dobbs has been hammering on the border issue for years. Vdare.com has been on the border issue for years also.
Our elites don't give a fig. Undermining our wages with a massive oversupply of labor is more important to them than national security. The dream of a North American Union is more important to them than national security. They may feel that the USA lives outside world history, and can ignore its lessons.
If so, the USA would not be the first country to be wrecked from internal corruption, nor the last. But the history hasn't been written yet and it is the responsibility of the elites and power holders to stack the cards in our favor.

Every president shoulders some of the burden for our unsecure borders however Bush was the president who sent troops to Iraq and Afghanistan to support the war on terror. The premise was that he was keeping America safe from future terrorist attacks. If this were his intent then he failed miserably considering the ease at which terrorists could cross over from Mexico. Your follow-up question about sending troops to the border instead of Afghanistan is laughable as I never said he shouldnt have sent troops overseas. If you claim that you are going to protect Americans, do it.
