If it weren't for Obama’s “Historic nature” (i.e. he's half black), if it weren't for the symbolism of what he represents, he would already be shredded in the media, but they will give him every free chance, they will aid and abet him at every turn, because they are in love of the idea of Obama.

Your comment has made me realise how things have changed over the years. I can remember when I was a child it was correct to refer to someone like Obama as half caste and would have wrong to say he was black. In fact black was not really considered the polite way to refer to black people you had to say coloured but then with South African issue that was considered wrong and black was correct.

I wonder what 30 years from now we will have to say.

I think that really sums it up and at the end of the day we would rather our leader be respected than liked.

Very true, I think the people that disliked or said they disliked President Bush were people that either had an intense dislike of America or had no true appreciation or knowledge of what the real George W Bush was/is.

Those that dislike America now can say they like Obama because of the way he behaves shows he has no great love of his own nation and traditions.

Not really. I had saved the pictures and the comments to my documents and had to go go back and cut the pictures with the comments to post them. I have a cordless keyboard and mouse. I didn’t think about putting the keyboard up while I was doing the cutting and pasting
