It is a stunning book, in that it was written in 1944 but cold have been written today about events today...
Thank you very much. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the info...
I will not adopt their tactics. I am halfway through “Rules for Radicals”, and I will not do it.
It is not just immoral, it is amoral.
We don’t need posters if our message is printed on our T shirts.
(It would help if you’re bigger than a size 0 - I’m a better poster than I was when I was younger, but not as good as I was 6 months and 40 pounds ago)
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? . . ."
- The Gulag Archipelago, Alexandr Solzhenitzyn
Thank G-d we're not at that point yet, thank the good Lord that all we need to do is engage in ridicule of their ridiculous ideas; sowing fear, confusion, and retreat; forcing them to obey their own rules; picking the target, freezing it, personalizing it, polarizing it; and ignoring attempts to shift or spread the blame - rather than axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else is at hand.
If we don't shatter their momentum now using the tactics they themselves developed, do you have any doubt, given the free pass that Holder gave voter intimidation by armed thugs, that we'll wind up in the desperate situation that Solzhenitzyn describes inside a decade?
recalls in voting may not be a bad idea.
so much for astro turff .. what will they do then?
>I will not adopt their tactics. I am halfway through Rules for Radicals, and I will not do it.

I understand your point and applaud your moral fiber. However I think that it needs to be pointed out that you can not win a guerrilla war with conventional tactics.
I am really afraid that with the 6 billion Obama gave ACORN that our votes will not be counted in 2010.
If that happens, What the hell will we do then?
Don’t forget to read Sun Tzu as well.

I hear you, but...I can’t.
I was going to record the book as I read it aloud, and make a bootleg audiobook so other people like me who didn’t want anyone to profit from it could get an understanding of it, but...I couldn’t do it.
I quit after one chapter. To read it in a way that would make it listenable, you have to have the voice inflections in the right place, in other words, read it as if you believe it, otherwise it is unlistenable.
I quit and said screw that. I felt as if I was debasing myself somehow by simply reading it that way.
It is a conundrum. I DETEST moral equivalency, and that book is a bible of it. It is also Marxist to the core, and socialist as well.
Sigh.
We OUT NUMBER THEM! ACT like it!
It is a book I have read three times, and every time it fills me with despair at human nature.
I guess I am going to have to pick and choose from their tactics, because no matter what, I will never be able to adopt them all, because you understand...we WOULD be them.
I am just not ready to take that step.
They ignore “we the People” at their own peril.
That was “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky I was talking about...
Yeah, isn't that wonderful?
Let's go get 'em!
>I hear you, but...I cant.<
I know, I detest their ways myself. It is dishonest and completely wrong on so many levels.
However, I think that because they are playing by their own set of “rules” that they will win if we don’t adapt.
I hope I am wrong, but zero has the play book down pat, they are defeating democracy at every turn.
I am really afraid that in 2010, we will find out that they have gone over the edge to local congressmen and then what do we do?
I know my senator is hated here, but somehow he always gets votes that he needs by a landslide??? Shummer is a derelict who has been in office way too long, he never does what we want and he gets re-elected ll the time.
What happens when the congressmen start taking advantage of the Obama ways next?
Do they have the legal right to not allow cameras?
There was a thread yesterday on D. U. that preached this...get in their face yell doesn't matter if you make sense just shout the right wingers down.
We can not allow that to happen never back off.
Jeanne Shaheen is having a similar “telephone town hall” meeting on Thursday for NH.
Call your rep's local office and make an appointment. Make up an innocuous reason you need to meet with her. Something not ObamaCare related, so their radar won't be up.
With your appointment time in hand, you know the rep will be in the office (to see you). Preferably, you will be able to do this before the next ObamaCare propaganda "town hall" meeting.
Then you make a flyer to hand out to like-minded folks at the town hall meeting; OR, if you think the rep may cancel if he/she gets wind of your plan, don't put the info in writing. Just use word of mouth to tell folks, "We're going to have a protest at Rep So-and-So's office at X time on Y date. Bring signs, voices, etc."
If they won't let us talk and ask questions at the town hall meetings, if they try to control the town hall agenda, then we need to come up with other methods to make them hear us.
Showing up at their offices en masse on a day and time that you know they will be their (for their "one-on-one meeting" regarding your garden club's awarding them a certificate for supporting greenways - or some other attaboy carrot) will catch the rep off guard, and you all can get your point across.
Oh, and be sure to have video and still cameras to document the event.
Just an idea. It may or may not work in your situation. In any event, best of luck to you!
