Today I attended what was billed on Conservatives for Patients' Rights as a Town Hall for my local Congresscritter, Leonard Lance.
Unfortunately, Congressman Lance was not there, and the 100 or so irate voters who turned up were informed by his somewhat bewildered staffer that this was a "Mobile Office", intended to deal with constituent service issues, like late Social Security checks and the like.
Well, we were not going to let the opportunity go to waste, and there was a cordial, if somewhat heated, discussion. Every single person who showed up opposed the Democrat plan. So, all in all, it was a pretty effective session.
Like voting for cap and trade taxes.
A NJ RINO??
Decent town, Cranford. They actually give a damn about their community, unlike some of their neighbors.
THANK GOD FOR OBAMA’S HEALTH CARE PLAN!
Now that I have your attention, let me explain why I said it.
After the election and into the spring, I was depressed as could be because it appeared that the Dems and RINOs were going to destroy the country.
I didn’t see anyone organized or energized on the other side.
But that has all changed, thanks to Obama’s monstrous plan. We are organized, we are energized, we are watching, and out Congress knows it.
Obama is indeed an effective “community organizer” - look how many millions of people he inspired to work against him!
The fight is far from over, and after this one there will be immigration.
But the picture looks far worse for the Obama program than it did just two or three months ago. And he knows it.
KEEP UP THE FIGHT!

How the Hell did they get an R elected in Cranford? Isn’t it about 5 minutes down RT 28/ St George Ave from Elizabeth?
Old people live in Cranford, and some decades back, I am told, other towns absorbed much of the county’s riffraff, leaving places like Westfield, Scotch Plains and Cranford a bit cleaner.
“Leonard Lance must have been busy with assorted issues of greater interest to voters, huh? ;-)”
Busy doing the people’s work no doubt.
Seriously, this is great news.
I worked a short time in Roselle Pk but that was about 25 years ago. There was quite a good Italian Pork store there. Stopped every Saturday for 2 lbs of hot sausage, artichoke hearts and a few loaves of bread. After watching the Sopranos, I try not to think about the sausage.
Need more than 100 people to get the message through the heads of these damn self-annoited aristocrats.
Lance is a bottom feeder.
But Tom Kean Jr., I believe, bounced him into the House so Kean Jr. could get the Senate Minority spot in the Jersey Senate to position himself for higher office under Daddy’s tutelage, money and connections.
So Tom Kean Jr.’s gain may have been the nation’s loss - and so creeping RINOism moves forward.
Lance is also my representative way out in western Somerset County. I’ve been tracking him closely. The Cap and Trade vote has upset me but he’s right on with respect to the healthcare bill.

So we should cut him soooome slack!
Gerrymandering, mostly...
Actually, NJ-7 is just about the only competetive district in the whole state. All other seats are "safe" D or R.
Though I don't know if any D will be safe in 2010...
Big RINO.
That's what I kept saying. But I am worried about him going wobbly. After Cap & Tax, I live by the old Reagan mantra of "Trust, but Verify"...
These individuals MUST be reduced to the role that they are supposed to be playing- PUBLIC SERVANTS!
TERM LIMITS, NOW AND FOREVER!
Or maybe they are fair-weather friends, who only come out when they know they are on the winning side, and it will be one big party.
Or maybe, just maybe, the rank-and-file Obamabots know that this Dog's Breakfast that is working it's way through Congress is not going to be good for anybody, and they are choosing not to support it.
Whatever the reason, not one of them turned up for our meeting today.
