We want Wyoming, South Dakota and Colorado too for their oil shale and natural gas - they can't use those areas anyway, electric cars don't get enough mileage on a single charge to drive that far. I'm also willing to take all the greedy doctors, the scientists who laugh at Global Warming, and the capitalist pig entrepreneurs that create small businesses.

They can have all the intellectuals they want, planned parenthood, PETA, a Czar for every family and ethanol technology (let them burn their food).

The South will get the elite of the officer corps (just like last time). Will also get the Atlantic half of the US Navy (because of Norfolk/Newport News). Plenty of nuclear reactors in the South, along with the Savannah River Plant and Oak Ridge; we’ll get to build our own nukes fairly quickly. What little recently constructed industry exists in the USA is in the South. Energy and oil...got that too.

The only thing lacking is the Grain Belt, but the South could probably lure Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska away from the “liberal” states, thus becoming agriculturally self-sufficient.

Oh, yes, don’t forget, in this “divorce” the North gets to keep all the national debt.

In less than a generation, the South is a thriving prosperous nation, still with the largest GNP on the planet (although China will be a close second). The North will be a decayed backward third world dictatorship. I hope the DUmmies enjoy their paradise.

Well, I like the part about splitting the nation in two. I think its the only real solution. There are simply too many Lefties in America today and we will never "win" this ideological fight. Eastern Europe was smart to split into separate nations after the fall of the Soviet Union. Look to Yugoslavia. A political nightmare until the split up. Now, everyone does his/her own thing and nobody is killing anyone.

Well, you've got to give that DU poster "credit" (credit in a diabolical sense) for at least printing in public view what we all know they think and believe. Pretty frightening nonetheless.

I was debating whether or not to add to my home defense and reading these words just tipped me in favor of doing so. Maybe looking at some kind of heavy caliber item to supplement the lighter fare I already have (based more on cost than anything else). The good "old school" .45 auto is looking pretty good right now. May also be time to apply for that CC permit.

The only concern I have is for the youngster we still have at home. I can take care of all of us but I'm getting up in years and my own mortality is more and more coming to mind. I guess it's time to get him enrolled in those gun safety and shooting classes. He's old enough to handle it.
