Woman Who Said She Was ‘Just A Mom’ At Town Hall Meeting Is Exposed As A Republican Operative
NBC26 ^ | 08/07/2009 | NBC26

Posted on 08/07/2009 10:39:00 AM PDT by Dallas59

Rep. Steve Kagen (D-WI) faced a “heated” discussion about health care at a town hall meeting yesterday, with people in the crowd who were heckling, interrupting, and filibustering him.

One vocal attendee was a woman named Heather Blish, who identified herself as “just a mom from a few blocks away” and “not affiliated with any political party.” When interviewed by the local NBC affiliate, Blish insisted she was not a member of the Republican Party. “I left the party,” she said. Blish’s statements, however, are distortions.

Did she leave the party or not? If she did, then the SRM’s report is the real distortion.

What was the point of this report? Do the local media do as much investigation of Kagen’s views? No, they dig up dirt on people speaking at meetings.

This report had nothing about the bill or the objections to the bill, just sliming the people who oppose the bill.

The MSM is nothing but a tool for the Democratic Socialist Party. The MSM will go to any lengths to push the socialists agenda. Everyone needs to understand that they are not neutral, and they are certainly not friendly. They are your enemies, and they are out to destroy you. Be careful what you say.

Before making statements to media, be aware that they WILL research you if you oppose socialism.

Some people at town hall meetings are Republicans!

Next I want to know if that baby she was holding was really hers or just a prop? Perhaps it was really her daughter’s baby? Republicans are so sneaky and well organized and paid for by BIG insurance.

Flashback: When the Left Protested Bush, the Media Saw Only “everyone from grandmothers and students to veterans and mothers pushing strollers”
—Ace

I cite this as an example, and I trust not even a liberal will dispute that when it came to anti-war protests, the protesters were unfailingly described as “just normal folks,” spontaneously animated to gather without, apparently, any organization at all; somehow, it seems, they psychically intuited where their fellow “just normal folks” might be banging their drums and shaking their paper mache effigies of Bush and Cheney.

Ah, but that was when dissent was patriotic.

After the meeting, everyone from grandmothers and students to veterans and mothers pushing strollers marched along Lake Merritt to Oakland City Hall for an afternoon rally at which Lee again spoke.

That’s noted leftist anti-american firebrand Rep. Barbara Lee. She spoke with Sean Penn.

Well it didn't say she was a "paid operative".

op·er·a·tive (pr--tv, --rtv, pr-) adj. 1. Being in effect; having force; operating: "Two major tendencies are operative in the American political system" (Heinz Eulau). 2. Functioning effectively; efficient. 3. Engaged in or concerned with physical or mechanical activity. 4. Of, relating to, or resulting from a surgical operation. 5. Significant; most important; key: The operative word is "low-fat." n. 1. A skilled worker, especially in industry. 2. a. A secret agent; a spy. b. A private investigator. 3. One who works for a political organization, often wielding influence out of public view.

That has been the problem with a conservative movement. MSM has pretty much made it “uncool” to be a conservative. Too many people are ashamed or wont admit to being a republican or conservative. Republicans are partly at fault for not countering this at college campuses and on the Internet. There could be a conservative revolution bigger than Reagan if there was good leadership.

You’re not even joking, remember how they tried to smear Sarah Palin by questioning if she was actually the mother of one of her children? The media will sink to any depths, if such is possible when they’re already naturally lower than a snake’s belly, in their dedication to their lord and master Hussein.

What’s your point? That organized protesting, however little or much this movement is influenced by it, is somehow invalid?

We should round up every SEIU, AFL-CIO, Teamsters, ACORN and other labor union protest that engages in “manufactured outrage,” then.

The woman said she left the party and has not paid dues in two years. From the video it appears her last position with the party ended May 2008. So within the last 15 months it’s very possible she decided she no longer considers herself to be part of the Republican Party.

That should come as no surprise. It seems there are a lot of conservatives who no longer consider themselves to be Republican.

That still does not answer the question of whether her statement was TRUTHFUL. Even should she choose to work on a specific R candidate’s campaign, if she has resigned her association as a registered member of the GOP, her comment is correct.

The newsies’ griping is sophistry, and is bovine excrement, if her statements are FACTUALLY TRUE, whether or not they are completely comprehensive.

To cower before this kind of onslaught is simply giving the left a license to intimidate, as well as to ignore their own identical “transgressions”.

In the end, I’m still unclear: Did she resign her membership in the party or not? If she did, then her statement is true.

Do these idiots seriously think that going after a mom is somehow going to cow others into buying into Obamacare?

"Exposing" her as a Republican might just convince others it must not be such a bad thing after all. If Republicans oppose this stupid bill, maybe it's time to give them another try.

This is certainly a distortion of the truth... whatever the actual definition of “operative” might be, the fact is that connotative use of the word is meant to imply that someone is there as a “plant” by the organization that they are operating under. We all know what this reporter was trying to imply..

Also, as many have said, who cares if she IS a Republican? You’re only allowed to have a dissenting opinion against Dems if you’re a Dem yourself? Showing that she worked for the campaigns only shows that she is perhaps more informed of the politics underlying this whole thing... (too bad more Dems taht work on campaigns aren’t more informed, otherwise they prob wouldn’t be Dems anymore!!)

Moreover, why should she have to tell them what party she’s with? As soon as she tells this to a Democrat and his cronies, they would immediately dismiss anything she has to say. In order to be heard even for a second there’s no way she could divulge her political history. The Dems are forcing us into a real corner, as usual.
