Was the president of the United States secretly born abroad? Was there an elaborate conspiracy to hide his true origins so he could get elected commander in chief? Is the birth certificate his campaign provided before last November's election really incomplete or fraudulent?
Sounds like the stuff of a tabloid novel or an episode of "The X-Files" more than a series of claims that have gained traction through chain e-mails and cable news shows, newspapers and even the federal court system. We refer, of course, to the so-called "birther" movement, which maintains that Barack Obama isn't a "natural born citizen," and thus is ineligible for the presidency.
This is so ridiculous, coming from folks who just cannot bring themselves to accept an Obama presidency made possible by nearly 70 million American voters, that we hesitate to even weigh in here, for fear of giving its adherents a legitimacy they do not deserve. But unlike many other yarns over the years, this one is being brazenly shouted, not furtively whispered. Last month a Republican congressman was jeered by constituents at a town hall meeting for insisting Obama is a citizen. Lou Dobbs, Rush Limbaugh and other media personalities keep insisting there's something to this, or that somehow more explanation is needed. It diminishes them.
Indeed, why stop with Obama? After all, Abraham Lincoln only said he was born in a Kentucky log cabin on Feb. 12, 1809. Where's the birth certificate on carbon-dated parchment? Produce it! Why trust this so-called "Honest Abe"? He could have been born anywhere!

All these conspiracy theories would go away if POTUS would just produce his birth certificate.
Because they are frightened beyond defecation.
Hell, we all remember conspiratorial stories about Mrs. Lincoln flying around the world, to Africa, Indonesia and Europe, possibly giving birth to Abe outside the USA, don’t we?
That is one of the stupidest editorials of all time. If they want to knock the ‘birther’ movement they could come up with something better. Maybe they would have been better served NOT weighing in.

The Media willingness to point AND laugh at that Birth Certificate thing, while ignoring “tuition Aid” & College Application STONE WALL baffles me, more.
IF, yes it is a true IF, a much younger Obama was willing to claim to be “Foreign” to get into a school, or get a grant, I HAVE A PROBLEM with him.

Did you see tha Canada Free Press story, the Networks got from the Obama campaign in 08 that they WERE NOT TO EVER talk about or investigate the story if they wanted to have a family and career go on.
Thats why the press is only ridiculing it all.

All other Presidents have provided these personal documents, why is 0bama not held to the same standard?
