A father has described his shock at finding his 'dead' baby had come back to life when he said goodbye at the wake.
Jose Alvarenga's son was born prematurely in Asuncion, Paraguay, weighing just 500 grams (17.6 ounces).
The infant was pronounced dead on Thursday and officials put the tiny body in a box and took it to his parents house four hours later.
Mr Alvarenga said: "I opened it to look at his remains and found that the baby was breathing. I began to cry."
He hurried back to the hospital where his partner was receiving treatment, and nurses put the baby in an incubator.
The infant is understood to be in a stable condition.

Guess there wasn’t another hospital
another win for socialized medicine?
Another win for God and the tenacity of life. If this baby has it now, then surely it will still have it when 65.
note to self.....
Remove Paraguay from alternative list.
0 would have made certain that it didn’t survive.
BTW what's with the "partner" business. They could have said his wife or the baby's mom.
I wondered the same thing..
I'm guess they are now referring to all significant others / spouses as "partners" so as to not stigmatize the gay community.
Oblahblah would have made sure it never got out of the womb...
God has a purpose for this child.
The infant was pronounced dead on Thursday and officials put the tiny body in a box.....When the hell was Obamacare passed? I thought they went into recess???? Oh, wait.... need to read again.
More PC. If they're going to use the term partner for same-sex couples, they have to do it for all.
I've stopped watching HGTV because I'm sick of hearing phrases like "not married to that sofa." I've heard it on some of the cooking shows too - "marry the ingredients," etc. Sheesh, like there are no other words to explain what they want to say. All blatantly geared toward making marriage mean anything other than what it is IMO.
Wow!
Guy is blessed.
Some see miracles, others see incompetents, dangerous ignorance and luck that the baby was not buried alive.
It is “insensitive” to use the words “husband” “wife” or even “boyfriend” or “girlfriend” after a country has declared that one’s gender is immaterial to a “partnership”.
We are pretty sure that the “partner” left at the hospital was female, aren’t we. We are just not allowed to acknowledge that fact, or we may possibly be “offending” someone, or even indulging in a little “hate” speech.
And yet people continue to claim that legalizing single sex “marriage” will have “no effect on the rest of us.”
Maybe they're cowboys...howdy, pardner.
Wouldn’t that be “cowpersons” ?
