Who's Insane? (Why it's faux conservative David Brooks, that' who!)
Powerline ^ | 8/9/2009 | John Hinderaker

Posted on 08/09/2009 10:44:10 PM PDT by mojito

All of this morning's television news talk shows focused on health care. On Meet the Press, David Gregory interviewed a panel that included David Brooks....Here is part of the dialogue that ensued:

MR. GREGORY: Republicans in office and on the airwaves insist the anger is real, reflecting real fears about a government takeover of the healthcare system. But the rhetoric has become extreme. (Videotape, Thursday)

MR. RUSH LIMBAUGH: There are far more similarities between Nancy Pelosi and Adolph Hitler than between these people showing up at town halls to protest a Hitler-like policy.

(End videotape)

MR. GREGORY:....And we're joined now by Jon Meacham of Newsweek magazine, CNBC's Erin Burnett and David Brooks of The New York Times. Welcome to all of you.

So, David, that is the question. What's going on here and how does the president retake center stage?

MR. DAVID BROOKS: I hadn't seen the Rush Limbaugh thing. That is insane. What he's saying is insane.

Really? Actually, Obamacare is a pretty good modern instance of national socialist economic policy....More important is this: it was Nancy Pelosi who started the Nazi analogy by deriding opponents of socialized medicine as people who attend town hall meetings carrying swastikas. That is simply a lie. And Pelosi's attempt to ram socialized medicine down the throats of the American people under false pretenses, with little debate, has a lot more in common with totalitarianism than individual Americans going to public meetings and expressing their views.

Brooks is not necessarily oblivious to all of this, but he knows where his bread is buttered. He makes his living as a "conservative" who can reliably be counted on to sell out conservatives and Republicans at every opportunity. As a result, he is a nobody in the conservative movement.

This false conservative was exposed a long time ago. Another term for them often is “establishment” conservative. Which just about means that they are paid to sell out conservative values & positions.

These media elites know exactly what they are doing & saying and THEY ARE INSANE, not Rush Limbaugh!

Maybe the New York & DC elites should actually READ THE DAMN BILL, especially if they are going to make such outlandish claims about who & why people are protesting!

At least, the people protesting have READ THE BILL! That's more than we can say about the people who will be voting on it!

I hadn't seen the Rush Limbaugh thing.

Dereliction of duty, Brooks.

1) Limbaugh is a very big part of this debate. You should know what he is saying.

2) If you don't know what Limbaugh said you should NOT be commenting on it based upon the snippet NBC provided.

Is he talking about McCain? Graham? Gergen? etc. etc. etc.

It was Pelosi who started the nazi accusations. Limbaugh was responding.

Is it insane to respond to Pelosi? No, distasteful perhaps, but as long as Californians insist on sending her to Washington we’ll have to respond to her from time to time.

The problem isn’t Limbaugh. He doesn’t live in California, he doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that she’s in the position she is in to say the things she says.

Funny how when nut jobs were protesting military action, hanging President Bush in effigy, and ANSWER and MoveOn were organizing demonstrations, the MSM never questioned if the anger is real.

David Brooks would rather curry favor with the east coast liberals than to stand and fight with mainstream Americans.

Brook’s is among the favorite among the conterfeit conservative talk show hosts.

David Brooks needs to reveal that his good friend Rahm Emmanual
got him vip seating and backstage passes to Brooks’ hero
Bruce Springsteen. Brooks has been even more fawning over
Obama and Emmanual since then. He should disclose his sell-out.

THIS JUST IN There's a reward out for anyone who can determine what Brooks and the rest of pukeneos do for a living-----plus a bonus if you can find out who signs their paychecks.

No one has yet figured out if Billy Krystal, Perle, Brooks, Frum and the pukeneo buddies have any visible means of support......

........other than infiltrating the US government, putting out agit-prop, incessantly pontificating on foreign policy issues, squatting in the Repub Party, and kicking we so/cons to the curb. pukeneos get a bonus for every 10 so/cons they kick to the curb.

Oh wait---Dickster Perle IS going into the oil business in Iraq----nice that US tax dollars and the blood of young Americans made the region safe for Perle's business ambitions, wasn't it?

Being a jackass is Brook's fulltime hobby. Pukeneos have no visible means of support---but they get paid handsomely to squat in the Repub Party, hoping to destroy it from within. (That ain't gonna happen.)

Perle's 'Oil Business' is IMO a front.
From what I've read about him (and that's a lot), he makes his real money by being an International Arms Dealer. And he sells to anyone.

So his hands 'prolly' have more U.S. and Israeli blood on them than Iran, 'Saddam insurgents', Hamas, Hezbollah, and maybe even Al-Qaeda. He'd sell an RPG even if it was aimed at his mother.

Richard Perle is scum.

All that is true---but the oil business was a long-term goal---b/c Israel is always whining that Moses turned left in the desert so that the Arabs had zillion dollar oil fields, instead of the Israelites. Perle felt he had to do SOMETHING to assuage all that pent-up jealousy.

Brooks NEVER was a conservative. How he got the “neo-con” label is a mystery to me. He is also stupid, but that is like calling a liberal stupid.
