MSNBC is having an on air meltdown over a man their camera crew videotaped openly carrying a handgun at an anti-Obama protest in Portsmouth, New Hampshire this morning near where Barack Obama will be holding a town hall meeting later today.

MSNBC showed footage of the man with the gun openly holstered to his right leg. He was holding a large sign with words about the tree of liberty.

The Portsmouth police chief informed MSNBC the man was legally armed.

The man was reportedly standing with a group of protesters on the property of a church.

More as this develops.

But if there were union thugs with baseball bats, that would be okay.

I think all protesters should be armed, where it’s legal to be armed.

Wouldn't that be everywhere (or darned near everywhere anyhow)?

I think you just explained management in most large companies also - especially where I work.
"manage the perception"
that's perfect!

Under the 18th century understanding of the term, every law abiding citizen of the United States is a member of the “Militia”.

So even by that standard, he was in compliance.

Would they report with the same zeal a liberal that could walk and chew gum simultaneously?

If you could find one.

Saw it a few minutes ago. As usual Matthews was a dumbass. I’d like to have seen the fellow make the point more clearly that he was merely excercising both his 1st and 2nd amendment rights so they wouldn’t shrivel through disuse. Perhaps a comment about the only people who seemed to be upset about the it were a bunch of media bed-wetters like his interviewer.

Guns work better than the night stick/billy clubs the Black Panthers were wielding at the polling places last Nov. 8.

They have better range and tend to have a more permanent effect of discouragement.

True. But that doesn’t quite sum it up. You’re forgetting that MSNBC is staffed with more attention seeking dumbasses.

Obama's DOJ let black panther thugs who threatened voters in Philadelphia with bats off the hook, but PMSNBC whines about a man exercising his constituional amendment

It is the pitchforks they should be worried about.

Reagan might not have been so sure of that, it was just a "GREAT Thing" that Hinkly only had a .22 revolver.

Like I said - the last really serious assassination attempt was 28 years ago, so they have things quite well in hand judging by their track record. I'll bet a good number of Freepers weren't even alive yet when Ford's assassination attempt took place.

I couldn't agree more.....and it's a typical agent provocateur-type tactic.

Yeah, because after all, we wouldn't want to OFFEND anyone who can't stand the sight of peaceably and lawfully armed citizens, right? Bending over backwards to appease the hard left and catering to the mushy middle has just worked so darn WELL for the conservatives over the years.

I agree, unless he had knowledge or good cause to believe the thugs were going to show up en masse and/or with baseball bats such as a couple SEIU guys did at least one other “town hall or the the Black Panthers with their billy clubs, such as they did to intimidate voters in one or more precincts last Nov. 8. But if he did it just to be doing it, I think it’s silly.

Still, it’s kind of fun to watch the bed-wetting nanny staters gnash their teeth over it, lol!

If I was to have been in that crowd, I would close to the one with the gun at the ready, since thugs tend to be respectful to those who have self-defense.

BTW, I am the daugther of a man who was in his Pratt And Whitney working days, which was nearly 30 years, after he served in the Coast Guard during WW2 a member of a union. He has been decesed for ten years now. He has to be spinning in his grave with the involvement of the ACORN/SEIU thugs in these town hall gatherings.
