ABC News and George Stephanopoulos have a credibility problem with conservatives and Middle America. And it seems to be getting worse. It’s not just that ABC News hired Bill Clinton’s White House spokesman and counselor George Stephanopoulos as a journalist; it’s that the pack mentality at ABC News doesn’t see it as a problem. “The planning meetings [at ABC News] have little political diversity. Everyone is left of center and at ease with their liberal ideals. The other viewpoint is rarely raised and never fully represented,” a current ABC News producer told me last week. ,,,,, But the bias at...

Newt Gingrich instantly brought the crowd to its feet last night at the last debate before Saturday's all important primary in South Carolina. What was the multitude cheering? Not his stance on tax policy, or on abortion, but rather his acid assault on the “elite media.” Gingrich expressed outrage that moderator John King of CNN would lead off the evening by asking about potentially damaging charges made by the Speaker’s second wife in an interview with ABC News's "Nightline." The audience howled its approval as Gingrich tore into the “destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media…” As...

NBC's Andrea Mitchell on New Year's Day made it clear to Nightly News viewers that her Obama-loving network will continue using the race card to assist the current White House resident's reelection. In a brief segment about the upcoming Iowa caucuses, Mitchell said "the rap" on the Hawkeye state is that "it doesn't represent the rest of the country - too white, too evangelical, too rural" Read more: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/noel-sheppard/2012/01/02/andrea-mitchell-iowa-too-white-too-evangelical-too-rural#ixzz1iMDxZzyc

How much do the gang at MSNBC's Morning Joe despise Newt Gingrich and want to derail his run for president? Near the end of a Monday segment in which she read - with a smile on her face, mind you - numerous columns quite hostile to the former Speaker of the House, co-host Mika Brzezinski asked, "How do we stop talking about Newt Gingrich?" Four out of ten Republicans believe Mitt Romney would be the most likely candidate to beat President Obama in the general election, according to a new CBS News poll. Cain trailed in the category with just 20 percent... Electability, however, was not most Republicans' top priority when selecting a candidate: 58 percent said they believe it's more important to have a nominee who agrees with them on the issues than one who can beat Mr. Obama next year. Thirty-nine percent said the opposite. But the race could still change; seven in 10 Republican primary voters say it is still too...

Driving The News: Fox Covering ‘Fast & Furious’ 10 Times More Than MSNBC And CNNby Colby Hall | 11:27 am, October 11th, 2011 The ‘Fast and Furious‘ story appears to be turning a major corner with the news that Congressional investigators, led by Rep. Darrell Issa, are sending a new subpoena to Attorney General Eric Holder over the DOJ’s failed gun running operation. The subpoenaing of the head of the Department of Justice is big news, but it seems that only viewers of Fox News channel are hearing much about it – and boy are they ever: a simple search...

While co-host Ann Curry on Tuesday's NBC "Today" wondered if Ron Suskind's "Confidence Men" was "fact or fiction," on August 5, 2008, then-co-host Meredith Vieira touted Suskind's claim in "Way of the World" that the Bush administration's case for the Iraq war was "worse than Watergate." Speaking of Suskind's latest work on Tuesday, Curry described how Obama administration "top officials are lining up to say they were either misquoted or taken out of context by the author." She then wondered: "Did he get the story right?" In contrast, while Vieira noted the Bush White House labeling Suskind's book at that...

Ed Schultz used a deceptive edit to misinform his audience about the content of Gov. Rick Perry's speech in Iowa yesterday. Schultz claimed that Gov. Perry was calling President Obama a "black cloud hanging over America" when in fact, the governor was talking about the national debt.

Look, I am past exhausted talking about liberal media bias. It’s real, we all know it, and people who deny it aren’t even fooling themselves. But some things just have to be pointed out. This morning I watched the first 15 minutes of the Today Show. I don’t particularly love or even like the program, but I find it useful to see what the producers think is the big news of the day. And sometimes Chuck Todd is on, and I like him. If I sound defensive about watching the show it’s only because I am. Anyway, the first ten...

South Africa and apartheid, Custer’s Last Stand — those are not exactly great moments in world history. But Chris Matthews says that today’s Tea Party-influenced Republican Party fits in the same category. On his Monday MSNBC program, Matthews asked the Huffington Post’s Howard Fineman why he thought the GOP was taking a tough stand on the debt ceiling negotiations. “What’s going on here as I see it is a kind of slow-motion secession,” Fineman said. “This is an ending of the social compact. This is two, three generations worth of agreement about Social Security, about Medicare, about the role of...

Earlier today, we posted a simple little video that asked an interesting question: “Is the the White House programming a news channel?” That seems like a provocative question, and it is. And some have wondered why we asked it. Why? Because a now-former MSNBC host suggested it in a resignation video posted on YouTube. Of course we’re going to do a story on that! And now it seems to have captured the attention of the White House. Let me explain.

This segment from Wednesday of last week is just a little reminder of how this tin-foiled left-wing hack defended the indefensible Weiner. The way both of these clowns spun a web of lies and conspiracy theories is shameless. Remember: Being on the Left means never having to say you're sorry--unless you've been caught red-handed in front of a national audience and are threatened with more graphic sexual pictures of yourself to be released if you don't confess. We won't hold our breathe for a Maddow apology.

Of all the complaints about Sarah Palin and her bus tour, this one’s easily the strangest. CBS reports that the media has begun to grumble that Palin’s decision to keep them out of the loop on the tour’s stops have created a dangerous working environment for reporters: Since Palin and her team won’t share where the potential candidate is headed, reporters and producers have little choice but to simply stay close to Palin’s bus. This has resulted in scenes of the Palin bus tooling down the highway followed by a caravan of 10 or 15 vehicles – including a massive...

There can be only one reason liberals instinctively call conservatives racists. Like Pavlov's dogs, they have been conditioned to do so by their masters in the Democrat-media complex. Ivan Petrovich Pavlov was a Russian scientist who won the Nobel Prize in 1904 for his studies of the digestive system. While studying the impact of saliva on digestion, he noticed that his test subjects - dogs - salivated even when there was no food present. Eventually, he realized the dogs were responding to the lab coats worn by his assistants. He expanded his experiments to determine the reason. ... His findings...

Last weekend, His Presidency Barack Obama was captured making potentially offensive comments to a group of big money donors who had paid large sums of money for special access to His Presidency. We observed that CBS only released “selectively edited” moments from the raw tape. We know how much the mainstream media values complete and full disclosure of recordings of this nature, so we found it curious, to say the least, that there was not one drop of intellectual curiosity from these guardians of media purity regarding the content of the full recording. Maybe CBS’s motive has nothing to do...

The Left’s bias for all to see, brought to you by none other than Chris Mathews of MSNBC’s “Hard Ball” about his nothing but giving “praise” to President Barak Obama, to his childhood, to his marriage to Michelle, the First Lady in so great glowing terms, minus the “leg tingles”. My goodness, this is in this very short video nothing more than an outright “love fest” going on with Mr. Mathews and President Obama. Mr. Mathews even says that President Obama “beautifully expresses” Christianity and American exceptionalism, like as if there are NOT OTHER AMERICANS who do “beautifully express” both...

"So the Muslim Brotherhood has a parallel role with the tea party; they keep you honest and decide whether you've stayed too long?," Chris Matthews said on his MSNBC program today.

Chris Matthews was nearly apoplectic in his questioning of Tea Party Express co-founder Sal Russo on the topic of Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and her controversial re-imagining of history where the founding fathers found a way to end slavery in their lifetime. Repeatedly calling Bachmann a "balloon head," Matthews demanded to know why Russo and the Tea Party wanted Bachmann to give a response to the State of the Union address or, more generally, why they ever wanted her to open her mouth in the first place?
-
MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow called out CNN for airing the Tea Party response to the State of the Union address by Michele Bachman last night: “A national news network decided that they would give Michele Bachmann a job that her own party never did.” Maddow asked Fmr. RNC Communications Dir. Doug Heye: “Isn’t it a little bit weird though to have two responses run on a national news network as if they were equivalent?” This segment sent new CNN hire Piers Morgan to the Twittersphere to pronounce his disapproval: Ms Maddow doesn’t think it’s ‘news’ when 2 different factions of Rep...

If anyone thinks that MSNBC has gotten softer since the departure of Keith Olbermann, think again. Even without the bombastic talk show host, MSNBC still reigns as the network of insane liberal hatred. Schneider writes: Repeatedly calling Bachmann a “balloon head,” Matthews demanded to know why Russo and the Tea Party wanted Bachmann to give a response to the State of the Union address or, more generally, why they ever wanted her to open her mouth in the first...

"Salvadoran Immigrant Ingmar Guandique Found Guilty of Murdering D.C. Intern Chandra Levy [12:45 p.m. ET]" That was the breaking news headline that was blasted to my inbox from ABCNews.com regarding today's murder conviction of the suspect in the 2001 murder of the former congressional intern for then-Rep. Gary Condit (D). In the Associated Press story by Matthew Barakat at the ABCNews.com website, there is no mention of the fact that Guandique is an illegal immigrant nor of the fact that he is involved in the ruthless gang Mara Salvatrucha, more commonly known as MS-13. This despite the fact that numerous...

Given the polarized nature of American politics in the last several years, accusations of inciting violence on both sides have become somewhat cliched. But this afternoon, MSNBC’s Dylan Ratigan took to his show to yell fire in a crowded theater, asking viewers, “Are things in our country so bad that it might actually be time for a revolution? The answer is obviously ‘yes.’” It’s difficult to explain the following clip without appearing to indulge in hyperbole, so it’s probably best to simply state the facts: Ratigan invites on cartoonist Ted Rall to talk about his new book The Anti-American Manifesto,...

O'Donnell has trouble airing 30-minute TV ad in Delaware By Philip Rucker Washington Post Staff Writer Monday, November 1, 2010; 11:12 AM Christine O'Donnell is taking a page from the playbook of Barack Obama. The Republican Senate candidate has produced a 30-minute television advertisement in the form of a documentary chronicling her connection with the people of Delaware. But unlike Obama's ad at the end of the 2008 race, the tea party insurgent's campaign has run into obstacles getting it in front of voters before Election Day. The campaign did not purchase advance time on networks in the Philadelphia or...

Viacom networks MTV, BET and CMT are giving an hour of free air time to President Obama less than three weeks before the midterm elections. The so-called “A Conversation with President Obama” will be live and commercial-free on six Viacom networks at 4 p.m. on Thursday. The networks will not give equal time to a Republican before the election, according to a spokeswoman. MTV denies that the Obama hour of TV is political, despite the timing, weeks before the midterm elections.

Four billboard trucks bearing the message “Stop the Liberal Bias, Tell the Truth!” began circling the Manhattan headquarters of ABC, CBS, NBC, and the New York Times on Friday. The trucks will do so for eight hours every weekday for the next four weeks as part of a campaign run by the Media Research Center, a watchdog group that analyzes the media for liberal bias. Similar trucks also are operating in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, passing the offices of the broadcast networks, the Washington Post, CNN, the Newseum, the National Press Club and Politico, and ads about the campaign...

Back in 1992, ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings told viewers his network would skip coverage of “routine” campaign events, unless they actually contributed new information that viewers could use. In an effort to keep ABC from being used as a propaganda arm for politicians, Jennings declared “there will be less attention to staged appearances and sound bites designed exclusively for television.” He later elaborated to the Washington Post’s Howard Kurtz, saying he did not want to be “‘seduced by pictures as we’ve been so easily seduced in the past. I don’t think any of us ever wants to...

Harry Reid may have deserted Pres. Obama over the Ground Zero mosque, but PBO can count on at least one stalwart defender: Norah O'Donnell. On today's Morning Joe, the MSNBC "correspondent" declared that the prez is deserving of praise for his position. The ABC News report on the rainout of President Obama's planned Memorial Day speech in Illinois noted that Obama had been criticized for not staying in Washington to go to Arlington National Cemetery. But ABC provided a ready excuse, subtitling its report "Obama Not First to Skip Arlington on Memorial Day" and asserting that George W. Bush "did not attend in 2001 or 2002." ABC was flat-out wrong about 2001, and highly misleading about 2002. Memorial Day 2001. On May 28, 2001, George W. Bush not only went to Arlington National Cemetery and gave a remarkably eloquent speech after laying...

Mediaweek's Anthony Crupi notes that Comcast Chairman Brian Roberts didn't seem overly eager to reassure MSNBC, or NBC, about their place in NBC-U's Comcastic future. That is, Comcast, which will soon swallow up NBC-Universal, parent company of MSNBC, NBC, and also CNBC, does not seem overly enamored of the way things are going at MSNBC in particular. As Crupi explains: Playing devil's advocate, former News Corp president and COO Peter Chernin asked Roberts what course of action he might take should, say, MSNBC anchor Keith Olbermann begin taking pot-shots at Republican Congressmen. "Let's have that conversation in 12 months when...

Hey media writers and TV critics – remember when you had all those ideas about how to help CNN’s lagging prime time ratings? Well, put on those executive hats again because it’s time to help MSNBC. The network’s 9am-5pmET (dayside ratings) is headed for its worst year since 1999, with even less viewers in May. The MSNBC ratings comparison is based on the A25-54 demographic, and so far in 2010 the network is averaging 73,000 from 9am-5pmET. In the first two weeks of May, that average falls to 68,000. It takes going back to 1999 (less than three years after...

Here is video from Morning Joe today, where Joe Scarborough actually likened the new Arizona Anti-Illegal Immigration Law to Nazi "Guards" demanding, "show me your papers." Scarborough said that even he - as an anti-amnesty person - "is offended by this," and said it will be a "nightmare for Republicans" in 2012 if they are identified, as Chuck Todd described it as, "the Party of 'Show me your papers.'" This analysis is beyond over the top. The Arizona law is essentially what the Federal Law already is, but it is not being enforced. To equate what Arizona is doing to...

Yes, folks. Let the media spinning begin ... In its Politics section, CNN.com laughably starts: Hundreds of people gathered outside Arizona's Capitol building on Sunday in a largely peaceful protest against the state's tough new immigration law.To which the folks at WSJ's Best of the Web responds: "Largely peaceful" implies that there was some violence, although the CNN report does not reveal its nature or extent. In any case, it's quite a contrast with reports of completely peaceful tea-party protests that emphasize imagined threats of violence. Which was exactly the point I made in my first post on this topic...
