Any real candidate for mayor would kill for the kind of publicity the city's most famous non-candidate is getting.
Michael DeMocker / The Times-Picayune Brad Pitt may be New Orleans' favorite son, but he can't be mayor ... at least, not yet. Brad Pitt -- he of cinematic, philanthropic and Angelina Jolie lore -- will face questions Thursday morning about a possible run for mayor of New Orleans on NBC's "Today" show.
The segment will mark the first time New Orleans' most famous adopted son has publicly addressed the question that has lit up the Internet and brightened parlor conversations around here for weeks: Will he or won't he?

He would be the perfect Dem candidate.....cheated on his first wife with another women, shacking up with his girlfriend, creating his own UN and according to the super market tabloid, “Angelina is tired of his drinking and flirting with other women”

Whomever coined the term "himbo", surely did it with Brad Pitt in mind. The guy has the intellect of a footstool.
Then again, compared to what he's replacing, it might just be an improvement - intellectually speaking, of course.

If he could run and did run, I think he would win.
And in New Orleans, it is not simply the blacks that back candidates who win office.
First of all, Nagin was elected both times largely on the support of white conservatives.
William Jefferson lost his Congressional seat to an Asian Republican as blacks did not overwhelmingly vote for Jefferson.

You know our nation is in trouble when Celebrities are taken seriously for political positions.
Brad would be doing much better doing what he does best acting and uh... not going there. What is his real name anyways? Don't tell me Brad Pitt is his real name. That is his Hollywood name..

I read an article about Pitt years ago that discussed his drug abuse - apparently he’s a pot head (according to the article).

I wonder if Pitt is a single-malt man like Nagin.

Yeah, that’s what we need. Another clueless ivory towerite in politics, making new laws to steal everyone else’s money to bring about social justice, all while his creative accountants come up with new ways for him to shelter his own vast fortune.
If he’s such a philanthropist, he can give away his own damn money.

Just say NO to celebucrats. They believe their own hype and believe that is reality. Playing one ain’t experience.

I’d kind of like to see Harry Connick Jr. take a stab at the celebrity mayor thing myself.
