Sarah Palin MUST challenge the President to a Health Care debate
Maverick68

Posted on 08/13/2009 7:45:29 AM PDT by Maverick68

Folks, I think the time has come: Sarah Palin MUST challenge President Obama to a televised debate on Health Care reform, especially as it pertains to the bill before Congress. Now, I know for a FACT that Obama would NEVER accept the challenge, but it is a challenge Ms. Palin has to make. A refusal by the President exposes him for the intellectual fraud that he is. Accepting the debate challenge would expose him even further, because the bill is indefenseable. Former Gov. Palin: I urge you to make the challenge to the President, the only condition being that the debate would be held SANS TELEPROMPTERS. You can take the lead in this debate! Fellow Freepers, I implore you to forward this post or similar posts to ALL your friends, neighbors, local talk show hosts asking the former Alaskan Governor to CHALLENGE the President to a debate....

She’s doing it the smarter way, by getting her statements out coherently on her own terms. To challenge Obama to an actual, in-the-flesh debate would be taken as impertinent grandstanding.

“She’s doing it the smarter way, by getting her statements out coherently on her own terms.”

Coherent flame thrower is what’s needed...she got off a good eye-opener with the “death squad” pronouncement that the Kenyan Mutt had to defend against...she has to keep the pressure on...and keep him off guard and defensive...he needs to be pushed hard, so he goes into petty tyrant mode like the petulant little girl he really is...

Just like the people who submit court requests for zero to produce a valid birth cerficate, Palin would be considered as “having no standing”. Now if she was still a governor, perhaps so.

She already has- just by a Facebook posting.

‘bama doesnt debate- he preaches. Scripted. His handlers would NEVER let him do a real debate. He can’t even risk taking real questions from 11 yr olds.

Sarah is doing just fine in exposing what BamaCare is about for US. Notice that Bama and his crew USED a young girl to answer Sarah as though Sarah herself does not exist. We need people educated as to what is in their bill not a stage for Bama to project his deceptive image.

Yep. No need to challenge via debate. Obama is losing the debate without saying a word. Never give a sinking politician the chance to grab a buoy. Let them drown on their own.

That would be dumb.

Al Gore had a “debate” with Ross Perot on Larry King about NAFTA and “won” the debate back in 1994.

At no time should Palin make this about “Obama v. Palin 2012 Smackdown”. That would be stupid. The MSM would immediately crown Obama the winner, no matter how well she did.

Palin should keep doing what she’s doing. She should make a major, Reaganesque, speech on the subject, but on the whole, she’s doing rather well. She’s inside his OODA loop. She needs to stay there.

Best,

Chris

When was the last time a sitting President debate someone? They would propose she debate someone like James Carville. No. Sarah’s handling this just fine. If someone wants to book her on a Sunday show to discuss this, fine. I think she’s learned a lesson about controlling the media and not letting them control you.

You are correct she has no standing — we have the same standing. He didn’t want to debate McCain during the campaign and got it so that he was favored with the moderators — Sarah wanting a debate would make her look stupid. No matter who the person is in the WH, you don’t ask for a debate when you are not their opponent.

When’s the last time a sitting President has consistently acted so un-Presidential?
The point of the challenge is to keep “o” on defense.
If he screwed up and accepted, she would mop the floor with him.

That she spoke the truth is why O felt the need to respond.

I cannot stand ZERO but he is the President and she is a citizen. McCain had a hard enough time getting him to debate and now you want Sarah to make a fool of herself for asking for a debate from the President.

I would have had a fit if ZERO wanted to debate Pres Bush when he was in office — it would have been out of place.

The point of making the challenge is this: it is a no lose situation for Palin.
In all likelihood, he would decline (Palin wins)
If he accepted, he would be forced to defend specifics of the bill without a teleprompter (Palin wins).

With all due respect to Sarah, Newt Gingrich is infinitely more qualified for that debate.

But ‘let’s be clear,’ Obama isn’t interested in debating anything.

Absolutely. I was worried for her her first week out of office, but she’s clearly got fantastic political instincts, is adapting them to the requirements of a national-level (as opposed to quirky Alaskan) audience, and has found her out-of-office stride incredibly quickly.

I thought Palin hurt our cause by using the terms “evil” and “death panel” because I thought the democrats would use her comments as ammunition - and they did. Fortunately it’s not working so far.

Having said that, If you check out Palin’s response to Obama’s comments (on her facebook page) regarding “death panels” during his NH town hall, she does a great job of backing up her “death panel” comment with all of the known facts, including some quotes from liberals. Of course the media won’t cover her response.

If you know of people who have been convinced by the media that Palin is a lightweight, I recommend sending this response to them. It serves a double purpose - bolsters Palin’s standing and does a good job of knocking Obamacare.

Is using the term ‘Kenyan Mutt’ really helpful? A ‘mutt’ imples there is something wrong with someone who has the DNA of two different races.

I don’t find anything wrong with that myself and many people on this forum are ‘mutts’.

Kind of how he whipped Kerry on the debate on global warming, by starting out AGREEING the global warming is a man made problem and man can fix it by changing our behavior. THAT great debater Gingrich is better than Sarah?

“Is using the term ‘Kenyan Mutt’ really helpful? A ‘mutt’ imples there is something wrong with someone who has the DNA of two different races.”

Something “wrong” with him? I’ve had mutts all my life...they happen to be good and usually pretty smart. Nothing wrong with them at all. What kind of an interpretation is that? Straight from the SF Lideral PC library? Wikipedia? Is this going to end up on DU?

Read this;

http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20239003,00.html

President-Elect Obama May Get a Mutt ‘Like Me’

The main topic of the day was the economy, but President-elect Barack Obama did say Friday, at his first press conference since his election, that he is dealing with a topic close to home.

“With respect to the dog,” said Obama, “this is a major issue.” He said it has generated the most interest on his Web site, but before a new addition is made to the family, “two criteria that have to be reconciled.”

One is that elder daughter Malia, 10, “is allergic, so it has to be hypoallergenic.” The other is that “our preference would be to get a shelter dog,” which would point to the possiblity of a mixed breed, or, as Obama said, “a mutt, like me.”

Maybe she should be more measured in her delivery. I find that she speaks in my parlance. The last time she made her speech, at the swearing if of the Lt. Gov., she talked of melting into Washingon’s caring, protective embrace. I would speak that way to my friends. Similarly with the ‘death panels’, it’s what I would say to my friends. If I were making a speech, I probably would remove that kind of terminology. But perhaps that’s what makes her a different kind of politician. She’s not scripted, hence the emotional resonance she finds with (part of) the electorate.

I work in the health care industry. I have heard Newt speak on the topic several times. He is the ONLY politician (short of Tom Coburn and a couple of other docs —Howard Dean is notably absent from that list) who can speak intelligently and comprehensively on the subject without a list of talking points.

We don’t want to elevate Obama. His numbers are tanking and he is losing the health care debate. Sarah is doing just what she needs to do - be a rational/logical thorn in his side.

Sarah debating Obama would be like the US “negotiating” with Imamadnutjob in Iran. It only makes the tyrant look more reasonable.

BTW - Sarah would make Obama look like a three year old. The over/under on the number of Obama “Uhs” or “Ums” during the debate would be about 500. He couldn’t explain this disaster if he tried. He would simply continue the lies and all of his zombies would either swoon or get that odd tingle up their legs.
