SASKATOON–The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says Canada's health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.

Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care, and she adds that physicians from across the country – who will gather in Saskatoon today for their annual meeting – recognize that changes must be made.

"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doig told The Canadian Press.

Correct. Here in L.A., there are lots of low-cost and free healthcare facilities. My GF is also a nurse from canadastan and she works here now. As a matter of fact, if you head to the state hospitals here, you can also ask for the list after your visit.

Years ago, I was waiting for her after her shift at VGH in downtown Vancouver BC and this homeless bum was pleading to the guard for help and the guards (pricks) keep repeating “WHERE’S YOUR BC MEDICAL CARD?” Honestly, will Americans accept this behavior?

The pitch for change at the conference is to start with a presentation from Dr. Robert Ouellet, the current president of the CMA, who has said there's a critical need to make Canada's health-care system patient-centred. He will present details from his fact-finding trip to Europe in January, where he met with health groups in England, Denmark, Belgium, the Netherlands and France.

Canada offers limited Health Care to its Citizens.

When it comes to health insurance, all provincial governments offer limited coverage. The following is a list of what most governments cover in full:

• One eye examination every 24 months
• Basic ward accommodations in hospital
• Regular physician visits

It is important to note that this list is not reflective of all the health insurance plans across Canada.

I have a plan for all the illegal immigrants and others who are un-insured because they don't want to pay. (Not for people who had jobs and lost them, or had catastrophic health problems like accidents, etc. and need help) This would just be for the leeches:

Buy them some luggage, a one-way plane or train ticket, and help them find an apartment in Canada. They can get govt. health care there since they think it is so great. And we will solve our Health Care problems here with a lot less cost and a lot less govt. intervention.
