Oh I agree Wpin. I suppose I should have put /s at the end. It is good news but if they weren’t strong enough or bright enough to figure out their stance in November, what makes us think they will stand up next election......IF there is another free election.

We need to have faith in the strength of America and of those who love individual liberty, life, and the pursuit of happiness.

I believe that evil has taken over the left and that it has become too aggressive, ahead of it’s time...so to speak. Consider if they had been more patient and waited another 15 to 20 years...they may have a real chance at succeeding. I think that it is a close call right now, but one we can beat with little or no violence. Assuming as you say...there is another free election. I think there will be, I think that democrats will be breaking ranks soon. Their leadership has gone too far, too far away from American ideals and morality to suit most. I think that is what the poll probably is most indicative of for me. We will not change the hearts of all, we will not even make each changed heart like the alledged “stereotypical conservative heart”...but each heart we take from the left is a win for us. That is what we have to remember.

The last election, many were standing up for a change of the way Washington works...and they elected a man who ran as a moderate...much like old, long time in Washington McCain, but with a twist...Obama promised to bring the nation together, to change the corrupt way Washington works, tax cuts, etc. What we got was something much different. And his congressional henchmen have for the most part been accessories to his arrogance and thievery. They are threatening our very way of life. So, this next election...there will be reason to stand up against them. And, I believe the people will. This poll supports that belief.

Well, I have my own “survey” and it goes like this... “If you voted for Obama, you’re a liberal!”.... LOL...

Now, looking at my “survey results”, I see 10 million more liberals than conservatives...

It’s a fairly simply and *extremely accurate* survey, too.... :-)

What you are missing Star Traveler ( I like that moniker ), is that your “survey results” are old. The Gallup poll is newer, more recent information and is very useful in showing a shift towards conservatism, hence away from democrat party...don’t assume that people that voted for Obama like what him and his henchman are doing...many do not like it at all.

There are 230 million eligible voters in this country. Only 131 million voted in the 2008 election, i.e., about 62%. I would say that it is quite possible that most of the people in this country are conservative. Many of them probably don’t vote.

Enjoyed your response immensely. I'm cautiously optimistic. But I have to tell you, I fluctuate between all-out contempt to compassion for people who voted for this madman (with contempt out-pacing the compassion) simply because he was so blatant in his intentions. He made no secret of his belief system and what he intended to do and even if people didn't hear him, all of it was accessible by research. Which is what I do before each election. I'm a Reagan Republican and that standard has followed me throughout my life (his being the first election I was able to vote in)
Thank you for your truly thoughtful response. I hope you are correct.

You said — Many of them probably don’t vote.

Of course, in terms of politics and who gets elected, I’m only concerned about those who do vote...

You’re getting funnier by the minute... I like that...

So, I’m to believe that in about nine months, people turned conservative who have been liberal for years... :-)

Sorry..., a liberal is a liberal. Those who were liberal before are still liberals. I can see liberals arguing among themselves as to which liberal will represent them better — that goes on. They’ll say this liberal is better than that liberal and argue back and forth on it. But, a liberal changes his stripes in 9 months, and adopts conservative goals... that’s funny... LOL...

It should be a matter of concern when one-third of the electorate is not voting, especially if these polls have some validity that conservatives are in the majority. We should try to figure out why they are not voting and what we can do to have them participate—especially those who will vote for our candidates.

If they were “conservative” they would be voting... that’s the way it works for conservatives... If they’re not voting, then they are not conservative...

On the other hand, for liberals, it’s that they aren’t so dedicated to voting. So, you don’t want to get them motivated... :-)

You have a logic problem. Perhaps if we start nominating Conservative candidates instead of RINOs and self-described mavericks, we might give conservatives a reason to vote FOR Reps rather than just against Dems. It could wonders for turnout.

What I know for sure — is — that we had a Republican candidate and a Democrat candidate and the Democrat won...

That tells me what I need to know about conservatives and the liberals...

You are limiting the outcomes to one scenario...good thing the world is not limited to your imagination, eh? In any event...it is much easier to move from liberalism to conservatism...in fact it is natural. Many come to see the lies that are the foundation of liberal belief. It happened for me when I was a young man, it was a learning process, but there was a “straw that broke the camels back” moment. Once you reach that it is truly difficult to go back to being a liberal.

This discussion has been fun, but at this point it is getting redundant. You do not want to see the good news and nothing I say will change that for you...it seems you prefer to dogmatize the issue rather than accept that when more and more people want to identify with conservatism that it is a good thing.

I’ve already seen what our society has been doing for the last half century, and directly seeing it, myself. And I also saw what our society did the last election...

I don’t need a crystal ball or a seance to see what is happening... :-)

What you wrote pretty much sums it up for me as well, I am cautiously optimistic...I do have faith in America and Americans, but consider something Outlaw Woman...to prevail we really do not even need a majority...as long as we are willing to stand up for what is right.

The only part of contention I would have with your last post is you statement that he made no secret of his belief system...actually he did. He tried to come off as a moderate and he succeeded, now his actions have exposed his real nature that people like you and I had known prior to the election, and that is why his polling numbers are falling so rapidly. Most people watch a few different stations, read maybe a magazine or two each month, and are truly limited in what information they receive. They do not necessary realize that their knowledge is limited...it is what they have done for their entire lives. I live in a Republican county in Illinois and Obama actually received quite a few more votes than McCain did. I know that there are quite a few who are now horrified with what we got, literally, but this Obama is not the person they perceived. They were truly deceived by the media and by Obama.

You are obviously more astute and aggressive in wanting to know about the candidates running for office, hence you are more informed, but most people don’t have that same interest level. They really just want to live their lives and not bother with politics...

Anyway, thank you for the well thought out response. It is nice to be able to discuss something fully without antagonizing. :)

We are fighting evil Star Traveler, evil ebbs and flows but does not quit. The sooner we all come to realize who the real enemy is here the better off we will be.

Liberalism generally and the democrat party specifically is all about death and despair. Consider, that at this point in man’s history with the knowledge we have how a group can hold the truly barbaric tenets of philosophy that the left holds up as its banner. Life has no special value except what it can provide for the central power...their version of freedom is all about lowering the floor of civilized behavior. Immorality is their banner they wave proudly. Coercion is the glue they hold their walls of straw together with.

That is what we are fighting and those who switch from either being undecided or from liberal to conservative are welcome. They may not have all the exact same beliefs you have, but they are welcome to our side. And, it is good news when they want to leave the other side.

It’s like people who call themselves Christians, but they don’t really believe in sin, or hell, or the divinity of Christ, or that God really exists. They just like the idea of Church and wedding and funerals having a Minister there.

Excellent analysis. Barna polls show just this: 40-60% (depending on the question and age) of self identified Christians don't believe in Satan...Hell...a sinless Christ...Salvation in Christ alone...or other various orthodox Christian teachings. Hard to be a Christian when you don't follow the teachings of Christ/scripture.

You’re right regarding people’s limited scope. For me that is the most frustrating part. You try to inform people by showing them actual facts and they pooh pooh it. But I do have faith in Americans when it’s down to the rubber hitting the road (such as 9-11-2001) and just pray when all hell breaks loose, that same spirit will surface. Hey wpin, cut and paste this video and tell me what you think. I posted it the other nite but traffic was light.

That was very moving! I had seen that before, it really hits the nail on the head. Thanks for sharing.

In spite of what the media and democrat politicians would have us believe...they are truly running very scared right now because they know the American people are not going to put up with their shenanigans. But, like other evil entities throughout history, that won’t stop them...we have to remove them from power at every level of government, education, and judiciary.
