Like they'll stop at smokers and burgers... when the government thinks it controls the health of private citizens, it won't hesitate to reach into every part of your personal life.

Going to take a look now... the problem is that most folks will look at this story and see the gay aspect of it. The babies that they are proposing forcing the procedure on are not in that category. It’s the government saying since they assume that some of your children will be gay they will make decisions about their healthcare (will religious preferences be considered?) from the womb to the tomb.

The hard, desensitised callus skin formed on the glans because of the protective foreskin being removed might have an influence in preventing minor cuts during intercourse that might lower chances of picking up HIV and other STDs, but consider the fact that Sweden, where circumcision rates are practically nil, has a lower HIV prevalence rate than Pakistan, where practically all males are circumcised. Malaysia, another Islamic country with near-total male circumcision rates, has five times the HIV prevalence rate as Sweden.

Why, have themselves circumcised, of course. They’ve obviously concerned about their risk of contracting AIDS, and they know themselves and their habits best ...

The news is not that circumcision does this or that... the news is that it is being suggested as a pseudo-requirement by the government.

These findings about AIDS and circumcision have been brewing for a while now. I get a chuckle thinking about all those guys on the Left Coast who were anguishing over the loss of their foreskin. A lot of them went through “foreskin restoration” where they hang weights and stuff from their dongs trying to stretch the skin back over the end. And now they find out they should to cut it off. Again. hehehe.

hmm. I thought this thread would be laden with hilarious jokes. Instead, it’s rather solemn. I don’t get it, and I don’t think I want to...

Gotcha... the officials! Sorry ‘bout that. Missed the joke.
Must be slow tonight... A couple of laps around the house oughta cure that.

Here's what I responded to:
Recently, studies showed that in African countries hit hard by AIDS, men who were circumcised reduced their infection risk by half
It's NOT recent.....
And that was my point..No mas.

I would agree this is no place for a government to decide such things. But aside from HIV, there are a lot of benefits to circumcision aside from that. There is only upside to circumcision with regard to health.

Let’s see, 70% of the AIDs cases in America are homosexual males. I wonder if they might consider promoting the idea that men should not engage in anal sex.

Nonsense.
Removing the appendix might prevent you from getting appendicitis, but does that mean that surgeons should start harvesting them for that sake?

Public health officials are considering promoting routine circumcision for all baby boys KRAMER: I would advise against that.
Elaine: Kramer, It's a tradition.
KRAMER: Well, so was sacrificing virgins to appease the gods, but we don't do that anymore.
Jerry: Well, maybe we should.

Have a Guinness. The complex carbohydrates stimulate mental function.
Wouldn’t you like to see all government officials circumcized, if they havent’ been already ;-)? Theoretically, I mean, not actually watching ...
