I know you will find that other health care industry segments will align themselves with physicians on this. When reimbursements fall (in some cases) even further below costs, the decision to not participate becomes not so difficult. That point has arrived for many already and will for the remainder if this goes down—possibly regardless for some providers if recent trends continue.

In Houston the Memorial Hermann Health Care System is trying to SELL one of it’s hospitals to the Harris County Hospital District. The reason..The domographic of the patient base has CHANGED. You see the SW area in which the Hospital is located is the home to the Katrina gangs, illegals, and a large segment is covered by medicaid.
as the ceo Dan Wolterman of MHHCS states: “THOSE people are better served by the Harris County Hospital District (charity).”
as one gastroenterologist said (para)Doctors will leave the Hospital due to the fact that their insured and Medicare patients want to go to NICE hospitals.
I wonder where the Justice Deptartment is? Will all the NEW fored insured be happy going to a substandard Hospital with substandard Doctors. Oh yes that question was answered...The interns and Residents from the Medical schools will make up the shortfall of Physcians. THE PATIENTS WILL BE GEUNIA PIGS.
Any time Wolterman is asked about the Patients he always referrs to the population that uses the Hospital as THEM, THEY. And this is not about money. It is a profitable Hospital, plus MHHCS is finishing up on a gawd awful eyesore hospital in the Memorial City area. Gentry area.
Doctors that send patients to MHHSW have signed a petition that they will leave the Hospital and send their patients elsewhere.
Peoeple are asking the question.IF OBAMACARE IS GOING TO PASS..WHY IS MEMORIAL HERMANN IN SUCH A HURRY TO UNLOAD THE SOUTHWEST HOPITAL. something stinks we just can’t find the body.

This is another sign that if ObamaCare is enacted civil war or revolution will be imminent. The People and the States won’t back down (multiple States have already invoked the principle of State Nullification on other issues) and the Liberal Messiah won’t back down. That already happens. Its called medicare. Not only does it take forever to get reimbursed and far less than market rates, but medicare then comes back and audits you. They look for any reason to fine you to get yet more money back from you. If not for private insurance picking up the slack, medicare would have run health care bankrupt long before this.
I suspect that no one will take patients insured by the public option if it passes. I then suspect they will make it illegal not to take such “insurance” or tie acceptance to licensure, etc. I plan on retiring early if this actually goes through, and I’m not the only one.

I believe I read that in the bill. They canNOT refuse to take Obamacare Patients. The Docs will have no choice. just like the patients.

Then they can go to Brazil, Costa Rica, Argentina, India, Britain, Poland, all sorts of countries. Our companies have discovered that there is a wide world out there and America isn’t the only country where a person can start and sustain a successful business. I’m sure the Chinese Government would love to have them come and teach their students.
Why else do you think companies are moving to India, Russia, and China? In a sick irony there are less regulations and over there doctors and people in the sciences are accorded a high status socially and otherwise where here they are spit upon socially as dorks.
My friend, a dedicated nurse practitioner, is retiring early. Her comment, “Obama is a fascist thug and I will not work under his rule.” Just WHO will be providing care under Obama’s Nazi plan?

Being a gentle Grampa, most of the time, I will not ask your age, however I’m sure that many Mds in their 50’s and 60’s will just walk away if this BS plan becomes law.

I just had my annual checkup of my titanium implant to hold a crown in/on my jaw and not subject the crown to breakage. I have had the implant and the subsequent crown for 6 years with zero problems.
I asked him how long he would stay in practice even though he isn’t an MD if the 0b0z0 bs becomes law. He said that he would be out fishing with me and other retirees. He is 65 and his eye doc is monitoring his cataracts. He wanted to know how my cataract surgeries went, and I said great. He may opt for cataract surgery soon to avoid the rush of the illegals

SIEU thugs and left wing administrative phd nurses, who probably haven’t seen a patient for decades. Apparently, these groups have preparing to run government medicine shortly after Hilliarily’s attempt got flushed down.
They will claim that most people don’t need a doctor and these union run clinics, nursing homes and hospices will
play doctor, and SIEU thugs will act like real nurses and the phd nurses will take the place of doctors.

Guess we will all have to learn a foreign language or two in order to communicate our health concerns.
I live in a medical family, nurses, doctors, technicians, etc, I’d say 90% of my immediate family is in someway related to the medical field and is directly affected by this crap. Our family discussions are about how we’ll be able to eliminate the gov, aka, what system is going to evolve to avoid the government. We are all looking for the gov looploop holes. Screw the gov. And the majority the citizens are fighting it. It’s a HUGE topic in my family, and there will be an underground medical system if bambi has his way. Americans will not stand for this, just look at the patriots showing up at the townhalls. Americans won’t put up with this. We will prevail.
