I'm not inclined to piss on anyone's grave. But for the Hufffington Post to throwup this editorial, gotta say I am up for pissing on them. All of a sudden they want to conject for the dead and defenseless? I've always filed the Kopechne incident under the "The rich and powerful get away with more things than us less rich and powerful" in my cabinet. People risk their lives on the line for their beliefs every day. A few even voluntarily give their lives. Their cause is important to the consideration of their virtue. In dieing Miss Kopechne never had the anything to do with that kind of consideration. Miss Kopechne never had a choice. She never had any choice in the risk of or decision to end her life. To ponder that she would have thought her death was "worth while" makes me sick.

Still, ignorance doesn't preclude a right to wonder.

Ignorance doesn't preclude an outrageously offensive editorial in the Huffington Post, either.

I sent an Email to Fox News when I heard that Kennedy was dead. I pointed out that I would not be watching much TV for a while because I knew that there would be nothing but stories about him. I was crude and insensitive enough to mention that I would not be mourning Kennedy.

I also closed by saying that he might finally have to answer for Mary Jo. O’Reilly and some of the other Fox talking heads have been condemning those of us who said unkind things about Kennedy.

I have always been disgusted by the tendency of people to immediately transform someone who dies into a fictitious character with positive attributes they never exhibited during their lives. I think Ted Kennedy was a leftist maggot. I spit on his memory and I don’t care who finds that insensitive.

Here is a portion of the BBC radio broadcast devoted to the life of former Senator Ted Kennedy. The speaker is author Ed Klein who as an insider has written a few books about the Kennedy family.
Here is the quote:
“He [Ted Kennedy] would be the last person...to want us...to be morose...He would probably have a joke to tell...I don’t know if you know this or not, but one of his favorite topics of humor was indeed Chappaquidick itself and he would ask people ‘Have you heard any new jokes about Chappaquidick?’”........Ed Klein

Go to minute 30.00. At 30.25 he says it. Author Ed Klein ( Ted Kennedy: The Dream That Never Died ) says that Senator Kennedy’s favorite joke subject was Mary Jo Kopechne and Chappaquiddick.

On the bottom of the Windows Media display, go to the progress bar and drag the blue ‘dot’ forwards in time( from left slide to the right ) to the 30 minute mark. The time display is below the bar, on your left. The statement is at 30 minutes, and about 20 or so seconds.

Mary Jo death and Chappaquiddick. Ted Kennedy’s favorite joke subject.

Mary Jo was one of Bobby Kennedy’s boiler room girls, who ran his campaign.

She was a party girl who went to one party too much. drinking the Kennedy Kool-Ade, she devoted her life to getting them elected.

The whole Chappaquiddick affair remains shrouded in mystery. Why was Teddy never seen by anyone with wet hair or clothes, as if he had never been in the water. I have always considered this to be a distinct possibility.

That being said,Mary Jo was a victim; of either a callous disregard for life that allowed her to drown, or she was victim of a murder. To cover up something, or ruin Teddy’s career.

May she rest in peace.
