Rockford, Illinois Protest Report
Vanity | August 30, 2009 | Wpin

Posted on 08/30/2009 7:38:03 PM PDT by Wpin

Health Care for Americans Now (HCAN) an Acorn affiliated group had scheduled a protest today at St. Anthony's Hospital supporting Obamacare. About ten Tea Party Movement Patriots went to counter protest. The other side never showed up. We spent about an hour and a half waving flags, showing our signs, waving to passerbys, and generally had a great time. We had decided that we have gotten so much bad press and smears from the left about being unruly mobsters that we should wave and smile and show folks we were regular, friendly people standing up for America. Seemed to work pretty well as we had a fairly good percentage of shows of support with horns honking on cars, waving back, and thumbs up for us.

I am wondering if the "thousands" of pro Obamacare events that are supposed to be taking place are indeed taking place? Anyone hear? We joked today that perhaps Acorn isn't paying enough to get folks to protest against freedom... :)

Did anyone else see the new AARP ad supporting health control? They repeat the liberal line about all opposition being dishonest. The AARP must be a glutton for punishment or it is controlled by people who don’t care about its survival.

There’s nothing more intimidating than a bunch of smiling, friendly mobsters to scare away a group of sincere union supported astroturfers!

I was watching the Chicago/Denver game until they said that the second half was sponsored by AARP’s freeloader healthcare now website. So much for the NFL. I’ll catch the score later on the news.

It would be funny if all the paid “volunteers” chumped Obama out of the cash, and stayed home!

Don't they know enough not to give these bums any money until AFTER the job?

“Will Work for Food” scams have been around forever, and they never really want to work. They are so dirty and smelly that they guess most people will not want to let them get into the car, and will just give cash, instead!

With these paid “volunteers” it would seem some fraud is inevitable.

ACORN is getting lots, LOTS, of money from the Stimulus and other acts. They WILL be using that $ to influence elections, the 2010 mid-terms but particularly the 2012 election.

We need to have strategies and plans to act against this group of thugs, legally.

Maybe the ACORN "rent a crowd" people forgot to show up - - unemployed street people do that sometimes...

At the April 15th Tea Party in Sacramento there were exactly TWO, SEIU "counter protestors."

Eight of us showed up at Lofgren’s local office last Saturday & nobody else did — only a reporter. So we spent 2 hours talking to him and waving our signs at passing cars and pedestrians. Whatever, wherever.

Exactly what I was thinking! Immediately followed by a Pontiac Firebird and the theme music.
