In my previous blogposts on the Washington Post news pages campaign to Macaca Virginia Republican governor nominee Bob McDonnell by running story after story on McDonnells 1989 Regent University thesisRepublican Governors Association operative Nick Ayers has noted 34 such pieces, including articles, blogposts, cartoons, editorials and on-line chatsI have purposely refrained from citing opinion articles, since after all opinion writers can legitimately try to influence readers and readers are on notice that this is so.
But Ill make an exception here for Metro columnist Robert McCartneys Sunday analysis in which he argues, persuasively, that the McDonnell thesis isnt likely to move many voters to support Democratic nominee Creigh Deeds.

There’s a certain segment of the voting public that’s so fickle of course the WP will try again. A few smackdowns in a row should fix that.
In his hyperactive age, without a viral YouTube video, there can be no “Macaca Moment”.
I was just watching a YouTube video on McDonnell’s site. Two minutes in, it’s evident they put a lot of stock into yard signs at a parade in rural Buena Vista, Virginia today.

Sorry, I am not following this race closely.
Could you please help educate me if McDonnell is a true conservative? His campaign site is not the best source (I am skeptical of politicians).
