The White House announced today that President Obama will deliver a "major speech" (yes, another one) on the country's current financial situation next Monday, September 14, at Federal Hall in New York--coincidentally, the one-year anniversary of the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
The White House says the president will "discuss the aggressive steps the administration has taken to bring the economy back from the brink, the commitment to winding down the government's role in the financial sector and the actions the United States and the global community must take to prevent a crisis like this from ever happening again."
I'm beginning to wonder how much actual governing the man does amidst all these "major speeches..."

The Fed has done most of the work. FDIC increase to $250k and money market insurance did the rest. Obama did nothing.

He has gone away for me, I simply refuse to watch any speech he makes.
It will only contain lies, and nothing is to be gained by watching it.
I am spending my time thinking about how to pressure the Congress critters into opposing everything he proposes. That is a full time job.

He doesn’t have “oratory.” His speech patterns are those of a freshman forensic student.
He has tanned skin. That’s it. Nothing else. He made into and through Harvard but shows not even the slightest knowledge of the USC.

I’ll be setting the DVR to record anything but his speech. Although I must admit his poker face comedy routine is hilarious.
The “what the global community must do” line is ominous, however.
I think we all need to respond by letting our elected “representatives” know we will add their name to a nation-wide petition demanding their immediate resignation or a congressional impeachment if they vote in favor of the bills being put forth in Congress.

I wish he was speechifying to another joint session of congresscritters....the more time they spend clapping and trying not to fall asleep at his speeches, the less time they have to ruin the country.
Too bad they don’t take longer vacations. The nation is better off when they are not in session.

These people really don't know how to lead a Country, do they? obama has surrounded himself with accomplished liars, socialists, elitists, tax-cheats, radicals, etc. But apparently there is no-one on the team that actually knows anything about running a government in the real world.
When his next speech tanks in ratings and response what'll obama do? Anyone want to bet they'll trot out something negative about former President Bush or a member of his administration? obama and crew apparently have a very limited and un-imaginative playbook. Campaign, nationalize, crisis-mode, blame the preceding Administration, demonize specific opponents.

Even Nazi Pelosi had to add how shocked and horrified she was when she heard Wilson heckle "You lie" in response to Obama's lies.
I shocked too I must admit, at media for it's selective memory and silence when Democrats routinely call not only Republican representatives, but the American public "Nazi's", "artificial turf", "right wing nutcases" for simply trying to tell the politicians THEY elected to do what THEY elected them to do, which is listen to their constituents and do as they are told.
